Some info on Gvardiol:

You can skip all my words here if you wish :) ? Watch this video highlighting last year. Of course, we are not seeing the flaws too much, but the capability tells you a lot about our interest:

Watch on youtube.com

https://understat.com/player/9790 - His buildup numbers are comparable on the site to Cancelo and Walker, yet he has better Expected assists (more directly creative) and far more of a scoring threat than Walker.

https://breakingthelines.com/player-ana ... n-defense/ - Analytics site data analysis in February. Title of each section:

- A Constant Threat in Attack
- A Forward-Thinking Presence in Defense
- Final Third Penetration: Exploiting the Opponent’s Defensive Line
- Defensive Style: Beautifully Old-School

https://www.foottheball.com/players-in- ... potential/ - Earlier in the spring

One look at his numbers makes it clear that this is a player who loves getting high up the pitch and advancing the ball...

The role allows him to flex his ball-playing skills in the buildup as there are two other CBs who can do the conventional defensive work. He is above the 90th percentile in pretty much every buildup...

Given how far up the pitch he likes to venture, the true standout of his defending comes in interceptions. He averages 3.22 interceptions per 90, putting him in the 98th percentile amongst defenders a...

is extremely quick on his feet meaning he covers ground rapidly to diffuse any threatening situations. ...

He is an excellent passer, averaging 90% completion over short and medium distances. Gvardiol has already been involved in 26 shot-creating actions and five goal-creating actions....

https://www.foottheball.com/rising-ball ... a-leipzig/ - Older article (recently updated) also citing the big clubs scouting him

He can play three positions – a centre back in a four man back line, left back, and a left sided centre back in a three man back line.

Gvardiol’s one-on-one defending is amongst the best as far as young centre backs go...is very press resistant..[has]great ability to carry the ball out of defence, irrespective of where he is playing, allowing a smooth transition from defence to attack....

His passing range is impressive, as one would expect from a modern-day centre back and his game reading has signs of promise....

A site that performs analysis of our club and did so on Gvardiol when we were hearing Ake might have been off:

https://manchestercityanalysis.com/anal ... s-analysis

I also think Pep may see him as a potential no. 6-8 that Pep we know he loves to basically play with as many midfield like players as he can (technical-wise) and has tried this consistently with other players in both direction: i.e. Lahm, Delph & ZInchenko.

Given we are set to likely lose Gundo and Bernardo next summer and that would mean we could have to spend massively on 2 midfielders, whilst also considering KDB's age.

It’s come out that Chelsea are paying MORE THAN £50m for MC. I don’t blame City for walking away at all.

FFP doesn’t exist to any club apart from PSG and City.

Does Chelsea's transfer policy actually have any structure?
They seem to be in for everyone, with no clear idea on who they want or why they want them
Reminds me of the Rags transfer policy in the recent past.

Todd Boehly comes across as a brash Yank who believes his own hype.
Destined to end in tears.

Mental how much they’ve spent when they’ve made such a loss on players like Lukaku and Werner.

FFP - it ain’t for everyone.

Remember, he has to answer to joint investors who want their pound of flesh.

Pep and the team have really fcukd Chavski over on this one , just like the rags last year with Tranny.

These clubs are in a mess .

Note: the saleable value of City , Rags , Scouse 1.5 -2 billion ? Chavski went for 4 bill and they don't even control the land the Stadium is on.

The only worrying thing for me about Boehly ( nice Swiss and German name that ) is that he bought into Bruce's back Catalogue. Disappointed with the Boss on that one.

Brighton have made a press release stating NO AGREEMENT with any club for the sale of Cucarella has been made .
Quite bizarre and unprecedented

Not according to Brighton.
Bizzare carry on, they seem like a shower of cunts. Not surprising we told them to stick it.

Have faith, two summers ago we were all pissed off as we hadn't signed any of the CB's we were linked with and then signed Rúben (out target all along iirc?)

Indeed, and our main target who we refused to overpay for, and Ruben was supposedly third choice to, was none other than slabhead.

Yeah the club is spot on. If MC wanted to come to City he could have said he’s only considering us. But he’ll fit in nicely on the bench at Chelsea.

They're going to need a bigger bench!
