That is a mental price. I do like him but club dead right to walk away at those numbers.

Yeah the club is spot on. If MC wanted to come to City he could have said he’s only considering us. But he’ll fit in nicely on the bench at Chelsea.

They're going to need a bigger bench!

what does this mean for chilwell? he was class before being struck down with injury last season

So long as it wasn't career-threatening, we should offer them £10m for him, Pep would make him even better.

I’d go all in for Reece James. Unsettle him by speaking to him directly, like they did with Ake. Get Jack and the boys in his ear on international duty. Do everything we can so that even when we can’t agree a fee he’s then unsettled.

Buyers frenzy.
The only way to justify that price.
Chelsea are the new Rags and headed the same direction I think.

Fair play to Brighton for sticking to their guns and getting £62M for a player arguably worth just over half that.

Chelsea, in particular the new owner it seems, are panicking and hoping splashing the cash will bring success.

Spoiler alert for Todd. It wont

How much! He would have been a back-up for us and that’s why we were looking at 30 mil, max.

Would have been first choice left back but back up in other positions. Happy that we continue to stick to our price and not be taken for mugs. Chelsea massively overpaid and other selling clubs will have them over in this window as a result

Agreed but 70 mill deal for a one good season player is insane he has gone into the most expensive defenders list. Chelsea have set the bar so fucking high 22k a week to £350,000 the stupid twats.

Chelsea wasted nearly £200m on Lukaku and Werner and no one talks about it

Let it go. Keeping unhappy players will distibalise the dressing room, we'll end up like the rags.

You'll be hard pressed, he's a Chelsea boy. We'll have to offer something stupid with crazy wages. I been saying it for over a year, he'll be the perfect replacement for Walker if we can get him.

Could of got Reece James for peanuts a few years ago when he carried WIgan Athletic on his own while on loan from from Chavs right under City’s nose …….

Potentially if he stayed and didn't get enough game time.

But things changed as we were too cocky with cucu.

Is zin not getting games over can't defend cancelo? Or an anderlecht midfielder? Or wolves second choice? Who are we after that's better than zin?

I'm no debating his quality, I'm assuming he wanted to be a regular starter and we couldn't guarantee it. Isn't our policy, if players want to leave they can go as long as the right offer comes along? I doubt we wanted to sell him or push him out, I strongly believe it's his choice. He's played a blinder, stuck it out with us, gave it all, won shed load of silverware, if he can't win anything during the rest of his career, he still retires a winner.
