Super signing.
Has the ability to do much more than he does at Leeds (and what he does there is very decent).
That is why we bought him, great base to start with and large potential upside.
It will take time but I think he will be a great buy for us.

Better on the ball than Rice.

On an individual level, Phillips is not as good a passer as Rodri or Fernandinho, but considering he played for Leeds, who were battling for Premier League survival, while Rodri and Fernandinho played in midfield for the best possession team in the world, one might assume his passing metrics will only improve under Pep.

The BIG question is how much will SKY be reporting the transfer fee as?
No doubt they will be including the taxi fare from the airport, wear and tear on the tyres, the electricity used during the medical, his lunch etc etc.
Before you know it 42 will be 69 mill.

Nah the big question is , how long will it take for him to realise that that daft haircut needs to change ? Jack btw too. Remember Razza's Rug.

These things get in the way. Decent tuppeny all off is required.

Agreed! Get it cut or grow it long in the Mario Kempes or Ruben Ayala mode. Got my hair to that length in the 70s and it made me a better player. Haaland also to be included. He ain't blessed in the looks department and the Alice band makes him look stupid

Prob 25% of the player Fernandinho was in his prime , needs to lose a good few pounds aswell . Gonna be a slow burner this one , hopefully we will see him start to hit the levels required in another 6 months or so . I am going to give him plenty of slack until then !

“To be able to play under Pep and learn from him and his coaching staff as well as be part of such a fantastic squad is a prospect that I am incredibly excited about.

I am very appreciative of what I have done at Leeds and everyone I have been around, so I just want to test myself in the next step with good players with an unbelievable work ethic and an unbelievable manager as well.”

He's not replacing Prime Fern, he's replacing Back Up Fern and on that basis he's a major upgrade.
