Great news. Absolute tosser of a ref and since he’s retired nothing has changed. I’d imagine he’s had his hard drive checked and his hand has been forced.

Get Halsey to replace him. The only decent ref.

Dean has said his best moment as a ref was Aguerooooooooo, so it wouldn’t be the worst appointment.

but do they actually need an ex ref to boss them ?

Surely they need someone with no real attachment to any club or location ? I mean what did Riley do except allocate officials to games . What else needs to be done ?

Everyone has an attachment to a club or location. Webb is actually a United fanatic but it's not the rags it's Rotherham. I met him there on a corporate do, he hates Riley so that's a plus.

I know a few Rotherham fans (my brother lives there) that support Rotherham and Man United. It’s similar to Wigan Athletic fans and most other lower league teams. When I lived in Bury most of their fans supported the Rags as well

It won't matter one jot who takes over. The powers that be will be will be careful to choose someone already well versed in the manners and waysthat POGMOL operate.
It won't matter who his/her favourite team is, whoever gets the job will be operating under the instructions the bosses, who operate on behalf of those who financially control the game.

Nothing will change, The referee operating the off field VAR decisions will still be under the control of the two 'never heard of' officers; the match manager and match commander.
