On 89 mins or thereabouts I was thinking at least 6-7 minutes stoppage time…..a long break for the Grealish injury, at least three minutes, a two minute drinks break and 5 long sub stoppages. What the hell is going on, it’s ridiculous, this is professional football. So what’s behind it ?
It must be a deliberate act, is it to stop us scoring more to keep our goal difference down ? I understand the heat issues but that doesn’t mean you can bend the rules.
This is not the first time this has happened either. Am I being over zealous ? If we’d been at 1-1 I would have burst a blood vessel.

I’m an advocate of a timekeeper like in rugby and the final whistle goes when the clock is in the red and the ball goes out of play. It will stop all this nonsense.

It's one of the few things the officials can control. And therefore it will stay as it is

Just watched the drinks stoppage in the Rags match and the clock carried on for 1:45 mins before play restarted.

Rags get 4 mins to claw back a four goal defecit with no lengthy player stoppages.

TBH, some games just get to a stage where they peter out.

Sure, yesterday was a perfect example but it doesn’t alter the fact that there should have been a lot more injury time, had the game been closer it could have had a major impact on the outcome.

Thanks - I was under the impression the clock was stopped for them from the reporting I'd seen; like half time.

Thanks - I was under the impression the clock was stopped for them from the reporting I'd seen; like half time.

Clock definitely didn't stop at the Etihad, either half.

It was fucking boiling fucking hot at the Etihad yesterday and it was a none event well done the ref and the cunts who were in charge of the time keeping shit .

Two minutes……and a blatant non penalty, cheating just to give straws for those fuckers to clutch. It makes my blood boil.

Not complaining about our performance though….we fucked those cunts up good and proper

There wasn’t any at all. But Dott Cotten told us on commentary that it’s a penalty so VAR didn’t need to check.
