I am far too old to go through another game like the last two, my heart wont take it. The away fans are not confident, and I think that is correct, we should have this one. It would be nice to have a clean sheet, but Mike Dean is on VAR so I can see some drama. As always, three points please.

COME ON CITY!!!

Referee: Paul Tierney
Assistants: Neil Davies, Timothy Wood
Fourth official: John Brooks
VAR: Mike Dean
Assistant VAR: Adrian Holmes

Team Selection

Henderson
Biancone Worrall MBESoh Toffolo
Kouyate Freuler
Johnson MGW Dennis
Awoniyi

And the rest…

We’re gonna lose but we won’t be embarrassed at all…I’m glad we’re getting this game out the way early.

We almost certainly won't get get anything from this game. Its more about the performance for me; hopefully we'll come away from the game with some positives to take from it.

Same as every other top six…Keep the goals low and don’t do a Bournemouth, get some match time into unused legs ready for Saturday.

I can feel an upset coming on.

Can't have a high back line in this one, will be torn to shreds. Low block with quick counter attacks, start with Dennis up front.

Defensively they are poor so i'm expecting us to score but their attack is going to rip us a new one. Maybe Alfie can have a word with his lad to fake an illness.

We need to remember this is possibly the hardest game in football, Will be a good measurement of how far away we are from the top (hopefully not 9 goals!).

Forest's starting line up yesterday contained 11 British players. 8 English, 2 Welsh and a Scot.

This seems a little like our trip to Anfield in 1977, albeit on fiscal steroids. However, I think we'll be smarting after Sunday and be well up for this. If we keep 11 players on the pitch and stop conceding penalties and soft goals I think we can pull off a shock. At least a draw, but I'm going for an improbable Forest win.

Wonder if Alfie will be there for the Haaland derby!

I saw an interview with Alf a while ago, and while he played twice as many games for both us (75) and Leeds (74) than he did for city (34), somehow he was presenting himself as a City player first and foremost.

With the best will in the world we should just avoid making them angry.

Definitely. A loss but a respectable one, like the spurs game. Get things going against Bournemouth and the season properly starts. We would have essentially got our 'pre season' out the way!

It'll be a tough night but I'd like to think we can ask some questions. No idea what you do with Haaland though?

Wind him up by reminding him of when Collymore dropped his dad in training - get him sent off - only practical thing I can think of.

28-1 to win this.

Some of city's player can pop a ball through open upstairs window of a parked bus for its to travel down the periscope, off the head of the driver, out of his window and in to the goal…Parking the bus doesn't bother them.

I'm kinda hoping Pep wants to rest a few players!!!!

Just keep it under 5 and get the fuck out of there, ready to pump Bournemouth.

My worry is that Pep wants to answer Liverpool's drubbing at the weekend with one of his own. The bookies have 2-0/3-0 as the most likely score. I'd probably take that now and move on.

9 times out of 10 this is a 3-0 (or more) to City but I'll go for an optimistic 1-1. Brennan to score after fifteen, then they equalise in the second half but we hold on with some luck and great Henderson saves.

We need to get a good result against Bournemouth. I don't care about tomorrow.
