We may have both next year, probably more likely Gundogan will go to get a last decent move before it’s too late for him. But we in all likelihood won’t have either for the start of 2024-25 so we definitely will need to get a replacement by then and ideally in place next season to bed in

Gundo’s contract is up next summer isn’t it?
word is City have persuaded him to extend by including free nosh at Pep's cafe for his other half.

 I remember her meltdown about the food in Manchester.

It would be good to extend him for another year, but if he chooses it’s the right time to leave I don’t think any of us will hold it against him. He’s delivered above and beyond for us.

if we cough up the touted £180m for him I'd be surprised - for me half that would be too much given his age and correspnding lack of a proven top level track record. Difficult to know he was on the pitch in the last England game :?

As with any signing the price is a big consideration. And anything over 100m and I can't imagine we stump that up. But equally, how many clubs are out there that will. Dortmund are a selling club and they won't risk losing him for less than that when his contract is running down

You can never judge players on International games IMO, good or bad

He's good, no doubt. Linked up well with Foden last night. 80-90m? Definitely, but at the touted prices, nope. I'd be looking at Trossard to replace Mahrez but I think he's left wing, not sure. Leao looks tasty but left again?

Palmer and Foden can play on the right for the foreseeable. Borges too in the future with luck.

Mahrez doesn’t need replacing with a purchase.

Bellingham is clearly a good player for 16 but will he continue to develop? We have to back Pep in the market and trust him to improve the players.

I see Foden more as our future 8 with Borges as a swift left footed option on the right. Bellingham & Rodri in midfield would be a dream combo for us. Jury's out on Palmer for me, disappointed by his form in the recent opportunities he's been given but expecting Jack to become a superstar along with Erling.

He does look good for a 10-year-old.

Not seeing it yet mate, not unless we want to stop being up there with the best. We can play as many youth players as people want, but keeping the level up is a different matter

I’d be surprised if we didn’t ensure that any other club paid the highest fee possible ;-)

I'd most jump at the chance of this kid in our sqad.
He's still a kid and I think his petulance would wane as he matures as a person. Also a bit difficult to play the Billy Big Bollox when surrounded by ther quality of players we already have.

Looking back, the guys responsibe for planning our future squads, buying and selling at the right price have successfully managed to replace the likes of Yaya, Kompany, El Mago, Kun etc, sop I see no reason not to trust their judgement now.

Considering that we have rarely chased the very top stars, the likes of Fernandhino, Rodri, Cancelo, Bernardo, Foden, Dias etc have become top level enough to remain Premier Lge Champs almost year on year.

Bellingham is a top player for his age, just think how good he could become under the tutelage of Pep and the influence being able to train with the likesof our squad.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

Why would he go anywhere else ? If he did , then he is either poorly advised or dogged thick.

The guy is good and working with our midfield generals like bernie and tin tin will help him.

He'll follow the money to the highest bidding CL club, West Ham are wanting £100m+ for Rice so he'll be the benchmark I think.

If that is the case why did he go to Dortmund and not the Rags ?

Dortmund are specialists in luring young PL starlets, he would have got zero game time at the swamp when he was 16. This time round the rags could still struggle to qualify for the CL though and their money wouldn't be enough.
