For the sake of it, who do you think was/is better?

I am going with Merlin.
I think he was at the same level of the likes of Xavi and Iniesta.

That’s a tough one - silva was more consistent but kdb has won us a load of games virtually single handily and has unbelievable vision and passing, so KDB for me

Two different players really.

One is a long pin point pass to the boot of a striker player, and the other was good at getting a decisive pass off in tight spaces.

Kev has scored more goals that have either won us a game or changed the game. I don’t remember Silva having many of those moments.

Ultimately they’re both not fit to clean Kolarov’s boots though.

This is the impossible question. Cannot pick it.

KDB on a different planet but quite inconsistent

Would have loved to have both at their peak. Very different players.

Probably silva for now. He controlled most games he played in back then and we'd a weaker side

Two completely different players but not close to me. Big Dave ran games using his famous internal wing mirrors. One of the best players I've ever seen. One fault was that finishing but he finally got a grip in his last year.

KDB is great player but gives the ball away crazy amounts which Silva hardly ever did. Never quite sure what game we will get out of Kev, just check last night's match thread

KDBs contribution is sometimes questioned, Daves never was

Crazy to compare the 2, they're totally different players.
If you want to compare Kev to anyone it'd be Yaya in my opinion. Now that is a tough one. I'd have Yaya on pens though.

For me I would compare Yaya with Rodri.
Rodri has something of Yaya in him, great in the build up play.

Fern and Rodri are very different players in my book. Sure, Pep plays them in the same role, but I see them very different.
De Jong si similar to Fern, if you ask me, but with Dinho far superior.

Both phenomenal players

Silva had the most exquisite ball control and retention and could spot passes where there were none and in a tight situation he has no equal.

KDB isn't as consistent but is a real bona fide game changer. He also sees passes that most other players don't see even after they've been executed. He scores more goals than Silva but gives the ball away more often as he attempts game chasing defence splitting passes

I guess it could boil down to who would you rather have in your team. And I don't think there's a right or wrong answer to that. In answer to the question though, personally I'd plump for KDB by a whisker purely because he scores more

As far as comparisons go

KDB / Yaya (KDB for longevity)
Fern / Rodri (jury out)
Aguero / Haaland (Sergio*)

We hoped Phil or a Bernie could do it, but I don’t think anybody compares with David Silva tbh.

McAtee is supposed to be the David Silva type. We shall see.
