Great Notts County game yesterday.

15k turn out as well.

Had a street party yesterday and could hear the cheers

Hope they go up. Had a brilliant season with 107 points

Some game, would have been awful for them to lose that after the season they have had!

Just watched the highlights from yesterday. Brilliant. It’s why the lower leagues are more exciting this time of year.

I don’t agree with this nonsense that people keep pushing about “Notts County deserve to go up”. Utter bollocks, the team that wins the playoffs deserve it. All teams know the score when they start the season and if they don’t finish top they’re in the playoffs.

Interesting to see three of the four sides relegated from the conference were EFL clubs in very recent times. And the National League North has 6 teams which have played EFL football in recent times, Chester, Kidderminster, Darlington, Boston, Scarborough and Hereford.

Stockport were in this league recently as well. Going out of the EFL can lead to years in non league these days. The standard of the conference has very much improved. As an aside, the quality is probably on a par if not better than the WSL. It’s certainly better attended. And yet doesn’t get the media coverage it deserves

What happens if 3 Northern teams get relegated from the National League. Does NL North just have more teams than NL South? I’ve never understood.

I guess you could have a scenario whereby a club in the midlands swaps league from north to south or vice versa?

Before the creation of divisions 3 and 4, the Football League had division 3 North and South. Same scenario as the non league set up today. This has happened to Coventry who have played in both divisions 3 North and South. In fact they hold the distinction of being the only club to have appeared in all the different leagues there have been. Division 1, 2, 3, 4, 3N, 3S and the PL.

The quality is far better than the WSL. Theres not a womans team in the world who would be able to compete in the conference. Its not even remotely comparable. I watch a lot of the lowest league in the conference(north west counties football league first division south) and im pretty sure no womans team would be able to compete there either.
