How Peter Swales became City chairman

Been a while since I posted on here, so I hope you're the same miserable old bastards you always were.

I've just relaunched my Purely Man City blog on Substack and am starting with an eight-part serialisation explaining how Swales became chairman. Part one details a secret share agreement City’s directors signed in 1964 that inadvertently paved the way for Swales’ rise to power.

Thanks. The story does get more interesting. Part two will be posted on Saturday, and includes a story about Mike Summerbee buying a pair of stolen antique guns from a guy in a London hotel.

It is all very Lock, Stock, isn't it? Summerbee gave the guns to his mum, who was arrested when she tried to sell them on. Her defence lawyer later became a City director.
