***Brentford v Champions Official Match Thread***

Postby nottsblue » Sun May 28, 2023 9:57 am

Last game of another brilliant season for us. Champions again. And we still have two pots to play for the next two Saturday’s.

With this in mind I think we see more or less full strength today to get us back into match day rhythms. Resting our best players to keep them fresh is all well and good but sometimes players need game time to stay sharp. And I think this is one of those times.

And we owe Brentford for the home defeat just before the World Cup break. Envisage a good game with goals

3-1 Viking

Just landed, on the way to hotel, drop bags off and out on the beer for about 1pm.

Cracking weather, here's hoping the viking breaks his own record today.

Come on City !!!

A number not in the squad today. Kevin, Dias, Akanji, Grealish. No suggestion of anything sinister.

Surprised as i was expecting a strong team to start and get back in the mind-set. Booked a late deal to Malaga so will be going out to watch scouse go down

It's just not possible to get into the mind of Pep

Any of the players with a slight niggle won’t play today. Nothing being risked for the FA Cup. If we drop points so be it. A chance for Phillips, Palmer and co to step up and for Ake to get up to speed.

Come on City. Another chance for Phillips and Palmer

Genuinely shocked Gomez still gets a game

On paper looks like a weak midfield.

Very strange line up, however given the importance of the next two games totally understandable.

Do you think Pep has the mainstays playing practise matches against the EDS , or are they wrapped in cotton wool?

I suppose Foden might play midfield with Palmer on the left.

Was hoping to watch the game while the family cooked for me, but somehow see myself appointed grill master. The wifi in the garden should be enough to watch on my phone though, do big risk for burnt chicken.

Looking forward to see the fringe players (and Foden).
