Probably because Kane is not going either. he will get game time here but Rico is going to play more this season and Stones when fit so we currently havw options which is nice

Some of that and Kyle has a self destruct button. Glad he’s staying.

If Walker’s staying presumably he’ll accept the new contract offer. He should not be made Captain as a reward nor should Rico’s development be held back. He’s important in certain types of matches and that’s why City fought hard and successfully to keep him. Bernardo signing an extension would be far more important.

Hes still a class player. Defence looks rock solid now.
Ship out cancelo and gomez and its the best back 8 the world has ever seen imo.
Time to sort the midfield now….

Some saying Rico will end up as a midfielder.

Rico can certainly play inverted right back which effectively means midfielder. Walker can’t. Nor can he play as an up and down right back. He lacks the ability to deliver quality balls in the final third. When we’re facing a really pacy left winger Walkers the man though. Gvardiol could probably play inverted left back perfectly well in which case Walker would fit as orthodox right back. He’s not guaranteed a start any more though and he’ll have to live with that.
