The problem is football is not “creating” players like him or Merin anymore.

I can’t think of one who is even close and we can sign.

Why? There's no skillful players ? Doesn't make sense as full backs are now skillful

Don’t know why, mate, but I sense football is missing players with their brains and playmaking skills.
Same as with strikers. There are just a few world class, the rest are ok at their best.

I agree. There is a shitload of full backs, defensive mid and gk.
Ah, and overrated center backs.

Italy, France, Argentina and most of all Brazil are lacking a playmaker like they had.

True

Agree on the trend with strikers, as like with alvarez pep will try and coach the poacher out of him.

Doesn't make sense with magicians though as they are always the most important in a team

Manchester City defender John Stones has been ruled out of action until after the international break, manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed.

Stones, 29, suffered a muscle injury in pre-season and missed City's opening two Premier League matches and remained on the bench for their Super Cup win.

The next international break is between 4 and 12 September.

Stones could miss England's Euro qualifier against Ukraine and a friendly against Scotland next month.

I’m so shocked..

If he plays for England after missing our games hopefully Pep will keep him on the bench for a very long time. Becoming a bit of a joke.

I agree with lots of the comments. KDB’s numbers are outstanding, season after season. They aren’t so easily replaced. Spread around the team maybe, I’m not sure.

A good example is with England. Who takes over sticking it in the net when Kane is past it? Rashford?

Well foden is playing like a star without him .
I reckon KDB goals and assists will indeed be spread around.
Remember , we won e leagie with him largely unavailable - I’m not that fucking pissed off he’s out of action for a while .

I feel he needed a rested.
He looked very tired in the last part of the season last year.

The thing is, I remember in the last couple of years, he played a lot of unnecessary games like cup games or came on when we were 9 up and so. Never understood that, if he doesn't have a match bonus to justify it.
It will be tricky when he will come back, but we need to be smart and play him slowly back in the team.

Foden came on for him and played most of the Champions League final. Pep will not only ease him back carefully. His game time will be managed carefully from now on.

KDB is a great player a Legend.

We have had some great runs in the past when he has been injured.

Not sure which Title winning Season it was ( we have won that many now   ) KDB was out for an extended period and Bernado played the best form of his career. We were untouchable. Win after win. KDB came back from injury clearly unfit Pep Shoe horned him back in and we struggled a bit form wise.

This Season is already starting to feel very similar. Early days i know. The Hammers win was impressive they are a well organised decent side.
