Not as windy in Geordie land, the west is going to be the worst.

Forecast (BBC and Met Office) is currently approximately 40mph winds from 8pm Wednesday in Newcastle, yellow weather warning, Storm Agnes!

Kovacic and Grealish will both feature. Phillips will start. Ortega too surely.

Bernie? We can be sure that any of the EDS playing in the EFL Cup at Barnsley tonight won't feature at Newcastle tomorrow.

Pep said Phillips would start and that Kovacic and Grealish would certainly get minutes. He wasn’t sure whether the latter two would start or come off the bench. No mention of Bernie.

Pep made it pretty clear the Arsenal and Leipzig matches were more more important and he wanted to minimise the chances of another injury to a key player.

If we get through the next couple of rounds the quarter final is when we're at The Club World Cup so unless we can get a re-arranged date we'll be playing the EDS anyway.

Someone suggested maybe Hamilton and Susso may be travelling from the EDS because they weren't in the EDS squad tonight? Anyone any idea what they are like?

Susoho is 18 and a midfield player. He's a good lad and decent player but isnt a starter for the EDS yet.
Micah Hamilton is one of the older EDS lads and the current captain. He could make the bench I guess but doubtful he will start. Attacking midfield player

Is he the lad that has only recently come from an almost season long injury Doug?

A stiff breeze - 19 mph avg but won't be a factor inside St James .

Do we not have a kid striker ? The next borges / delap?

We've gone from alvarez being wasted to both him and haaland in our best team, together. So who is backup?

Not expecting much from this other than game time for young / fringe players, which will be the main interest.
Clearly Pep not bothered. Newcastle will be taking this far more seriously and it would be a shock if they didn't progress.

Alvarez wasted!!!!

No we don't have an up and coming striker . Delap still out there trying to prove he's got what it takes but it doesn't look like he'll make the grade. Borges was certainly not a striker even if he did score goals from a wide left role.

The current EDS number 9 is Dickson who does score a few but won't make it at City imo

I wouldn't be too sure Newcastle will take it seriously as you think. Don't forget they have CL games coming thick and fast and they aren't easy ones

By wasted I mean he wasn't getting in the team despite being shit hot.

Hmm why do we always struggle to get kid strikers.
