Bit of an issue here as our best cb pairing is him with dias and him stepping into midfield.

This puts pressure on Rico to play more and step into midfield

Also may mean we have to juggle gvardiol or ake as they are our third and fourth best CBs but also our best left back.

Oh, my God, we are ducked. Stick another player in there.

Pep says it’s a muscular issue and he’ll be out for a while. Maybe back after the international break? Akanji should be fit for the weekend apparently.

Unfortunately he had always been injury prone but we're never been over reliant on him so nothing to worry about.

Such a pity because he's a sensational player but not his fault.

He'll play a huge part in the season. Like he does most seasons

Unfortunately Stones can’t be relied on.Walker Dias Josko Ake should be a decent enough back 4.

He will be missed for the big games coming up. There is no doubt he brings us up a notch or two when he steps into the middle.
It's a pity he is so injury prone.

Thus and this. Please Pep, you know it makes sense. Manu is not first choice for any of these games

What is baffling is these players like Stones that are constantly injured still get their £200k a week for doing fuck all  Imagine! I do wonder with Stones, if he was on a pay per play deal would he be injured as often? I reckon we’d see him playing through the niggles like a Foden would do.

Pep picks Akanji, literally more than any other centre back. He's our weakest, IMHO.

Agreed

He is like Kompany in that he rarely is fit enough to play 20 games or even 15

Happy birthday by the way. Hope you have a good one my friend

Cheers mate.
Phillips didn’t look too bad last night. He seems like a likeable chap, really wish it had worked out for him here but probably best for all parties involved he goes in the summer.

Pep says doctors say Stones injury not as bad as first feared. See how he looks after the international break. Says Gvardiol maybe could play a Stones type role in midfield but he hasn’t ‘seen it yet in training’.

That's good news anyway.

I'm a bit baffled with the gvardiol statement because I was sure that was the kind of role we bought him for
