He was unable to play because he breached bail conditions. Before that he was free to play. Can’t see how he has a leg to stand on.

If Nick De Marco is taking the case, there will be a lot more to it than that.

I feel sorry for Mendy. This has all butnru9ned his career .

Absolutely. It should be the escorts that falsely accused him that should be paying him.

But unfortunately for him he wasn’t allowed to play because he broke bail conditions and wasn’t allowed to enter Greater Manchester under his bail conditions, so he wasn’t allowed to play for us at home or train.

Reading between-the-lines of the 2 versions of the story I've seen, it might not be his wages that he's going for, but rather bonuses. As per PFA rules, a club can't unilaterally deduct more than 2 weeks' wages, plus another few weeks (I can't remember the exact amount, but I think it's 2, 4 or 6) in extreme circumstances. Anything beyond this has to be with the player's explicit agreement (and, I believe, involvement of the PFA). This agreement might not cover bonuses, though, and, due to our bonus-heavy contract structures, his representatives have probably been going over the contract these past few months, seeing what he may potentially be eligible for from that side of things.

So you're right that he doesn't have a leg to stand on when it comes to wages, but there might be a case for certain bonuses, which would all be dependent on his contract itself.

Ah okay. Sounds like we may just chuck him a few million and agree out of court.

I think we should sue the club also for paying wages to a lump of shite.
If we deserve to be nailed on for FFP irregularities is for that, for paying a lamp to play football.

To be honest, I'd assumed something like that would have happened when he left the club. The fact that this has gone to the press either suggests some shady lawyers are involved, or the club really wasn't happy with his conduct and refused to pay him even through secondary sources immediately after the end of his contract.

I imagine he approached City to ask for these payments he thinks he us owed

We then ran it through our legal team and HR department to see if it had any merit.

It was then probably determined he doesn't have a case

We then told him thanks but no thanks you aren't getting anything else

He is then annoyed, speaks to his agent who then blabs to the press in the hope that slinging a bit of shite our way means we give in and compromise and maybe give him a reduced payoff to shut them up

And then hopefully he gets the square root of fuck all

Agree with all that. However you speak with the boss and ultimately make it go away. If he had a broken leg he would have been paid. In light of the the of climate around us I think coffee with Khaldoon and it’s sorted. Mendy thanks the club we all

The fly in Bendy's ointment is that he couldn't go to work on account of being in chokey because he broke his bail conditions not because he's now proved an innocent man.

Good luck to him. He was found innocent, set up by a Kabal of tarts and charged by an incompetent CPS. Smelt dodgy from day 1. We can afford it. The club should pay him what he is due and stand by him. Mendy only guilty of being stupid, but as a result his career has been ruined

He broke his bail conditions and ended up in jail, making himself unavailable for work through his own actions.

If you were accused of getting into a drunken brawl, charged with assault, and told as part of your bail that you weren't allowed to go to pubs after 9pm, and then straight away went off on a bender all night in the pub, broke bail conditions, and ended up in jail, would you expect your employer to pay your wages for the time you spent in jail if you were found not guilty of the assault?

Mendy is a useless, self entitled, egotistical, misogynistic, narcissistic, bottom feeding, knuckle dragging, piece of amphibious dog shit.
The worst person that ever wore a shirt for Manchester City, and, there is some fierce competition for that accolade.
