it will be the opposite though and they’ll sit back and we’ll get caught by them on the break.
expecting a frustrating night.
hoping we get out with a draw.

Stone's hammy is an issue - no way he is fully fit. Defence is going to have to pick itself from what remains - fuck knows what that looks like but Pep won't play Rico. Both Foden and Bernie were rested against palace but I don't see Pep taking KDB and / or Erling out which he will do against Luton. We don't sit back against anyone, anywhere but am expecting Kova to start

Gvardiol apparently not at training. No Ake or Walker. Bernardo may have to play at LB. We’re really down to the bare bones in defence. Reminds me of a couple of years ago when an unfit Stones played at Right Back and broke down after 15 minutes.

Walker came out for a solo session at the end but didn’t take part in group training. Rico will travel but will Pep be forced to take a chance on him? Could play on the left with Akanji on the Right.

Difficult game but I would trust Rico, he has been very good last few games and is very unlucky not to have played more this season. Having said that if Josko is fit he will start with Akanji on the right.

Gvardiol as you say travelling. Presumably a late fitness test awaits tomorrow. The fact that Walker trained alone offers a bit of encouragement for the rest of the season and maybe even the return leg on Wednesday 17.

Would we prefer a half fit Josko to Rico?

Very harsh on him when he’s never let us down.

Rico is class and for me Yes. But it’s Madrid away mate.
Full house. Josko in the middle if fit could be the time.

If Rico will start he will play agains the very best winger of the world. A monster.

I love him, but I think Vinicious will rip him apart.

How can he play against Jack when they’re on the same team mate?

I'm loving all the love-in for the Arse. Never been in a chumps league semi , smashed out of sight by the german rags the last two times they've met and have the potential to meet the current holders in the semi final but you'd be forgiven for thinking they were already at wembley

Didn’t they get to a final once ?

They did. Barcelona beat them if I remember correctly.

Rumour is that they will close the roof to improve home fan noise (or at least have asked UEFA for permission to do so).

UEFA agree to Madrids request. The roof will be closed. I hope City use this as an extra motivation. Shut the fuckers up. Strong start please.
