***Treble Winners v Madrid Official Match Thread*** 2nd Leg

Postby nottsblue » Wed Apr 17, 2024 6:19 am

Second leg, 3-3 and all to play for. I thought we were unlucky not to get the win in the first leg given the nature of Madrids first two goals. But a draw it was and we go again

And after last season’s absolute vintage thrashing of them they will be wary and a dare say a little subdued. Shame its the FA cup semi at the weekend as it gives us no respite, but it is what it is and these are the obstacles to overcome if we want to lift even more silverware in late May/early June

Feeling good about this one waking up this morning.
We will go through by hook or by crook

Best counter attacking we will face this season. We will need to be on it tonight, with no fuck ups. Nervous as usual.

No extra added extra time in the CL, which will work to our advantage in the final minutes, I reckon, as we're used to playing nigh on 100 minutes these days, and Real seem to always punish tiring teams in the final 7 or 8 mins.

Up until last night, I had this down as a formality, now I am shitting myself, all I can think of is there being an upset tonight, so christ knows how my pessimistic brother is feeling.

Long day ahead, I just want 20:00 to roll around now, still at least the fridge is full of beer.

2 games to set us on our way to history. Get through tonight and Saturday and we'll win the fucking lot. 115 or not, nothing will ever take a double treble away from these boys. There's the motivation, go out and put a marker down tonight. 3-1 city.

Let's just hope there's nothing like what happened last night.
I've no doubt Barcelona would have gone through only for the sending off. You can't plan for moments of madness that can ruin your chances.

What we don't want is anything frantic, be cool, calm and collected. Just get the job done.

3-1 city.
