https://www.thetimes.com/sport/football ... -7k6r5glhqThis is not directly about the case before the Commission. City are arguing that the ban on associated deals is discriminatory and that the voting structure of the PL is being abused.

I hope we sink the premier league - we have won everything there is to win so we can now go to our death beds happy .

I’m assuming our lawyers have given this the okay and said we’ve got a good chance of winning. We’re not just going to do this if we weren’t confident - it’s not our style.
I really hope the PL realise what a fuck up they’ve caused. Going after us when they could have left us was probably the worst thing they could have done.

The article says the charges before the Commission will be heard in November and last about six weeks.

The fact that all the PL have to do to make one of these kind of rules stick is to let clubs vote (most likely after the teams that play in red have gone around the Chairman of the other teams) is completely flawed.

City are obviously concerned that the PL can go after a particular Clubs business model and get the rule change through via a self interested majority.

Maybe not but we might have a heads up of how the wind is about to blow. This is not good IMO. As Carl said we won the lot,

No. It wouldn't be done unless it was necessary.

City are obviously worried not just about associated deals but about future changes to the rules targeting their business model being voted through by self interested opponents. Trust in the fairness of the PL is clearly zero.

Barrister types seem to make percentage calculations of success before launching actions.
They like it to be well over 50

There's no way city would do this unless either we are worried about Octobers hearing, or were supremely confident that we can win this hearing. I'm guessing the latter

Apparently we indicated we’d be doing this as early as February this year, so I don’t think it is off the back of feelings towards the 115 charges (I hope)
I think this is more of an attempt at stopping the terrible way the PL can just think of things to stop clubs they don’t like and all the US owned clubs just vote the same way, bringing in new rules. It’s worse than Eurovision!
