Watched Rodders play against Norn Ireland last night. Navas still going as well for Los Rojos. Shea Charles turned out for Ireland. Had to look him up to learn he is at Southampton. Laporte came on in the 2nd half

I really have no idea who is going to win it.
I only hope it will not be France. Can't take it with all those diving cunts in one place.

Germany on home soil must be in with a good shout

They seem really soft for a few years now.
I personally hope the italians as I always had a soft spot for their antics.

Frogs are strong, and krauts on home soil, either of those I reckon

No idea how england are faves. France for me the strongest squad. Portugal have a very balanced squad but a shithouse of a manager so have no chance. Wouldnt be surprised if we have another greece, someone who just defends their way to the title…

France have a very strong side playing tonight in their last game against Canada. The visitors are playing very well.

Just realized Nunes is in the Portugal's squad for the Euro's.
We live in a simulation. We must be.

There's zero atmosphere in Belgrade about the run-up to the competition.

- There seems to have been a massive farce with football stickers, and no kids are collecting them (which is the first sign on the streets that a competition's coming up)
- All kinds of big sponsors seem to not be promoting the competition here, so no branding in the shops (except Lidl and some electronics manufacturers - no Coca Cola, beer brands, crisps and other snacks, though)
- There are loads of other events happening around the city (outdoor concerts, festivals, etc.), so no fan zone/big screen has been announced yet. Also, 2 of Serbia's games are 9pm kick-offs, so policing outdoor areas could be a hassle
- From a footballing perspective, Serbians are incredibly pessimistic about the team's chances
- Another thing is the fact that this is the first competition held in summer without COVID restrictions since 2018; basically 6 years have passed since the last event like this, and a lot of people have other priorities, with the younger generation never having got into the swing of things

We're 3 days away from the opening ceremony, and basically nobody gives a toss.

I think there’s been a big fall off with interest in international football in general over the last ten years.
I don’t care for it, I don’t know anyone that’s actually interested. In England people only seem to care once it’s towards the end of a tournament if England are still interested.

I always thought that was a generational thing. We're about the same age, right? For my peers, it's pretty much the same - interest waned after 2002 WC, then has picked up for the odd competition, but only among people who've not got more important stuff to do (WC 2014 being an exception for mates in Bosnia & Herzegovina and Euro 2016 for the Welsh ones).

I've got a friend visiting while this tournament's on, and coincidentally we've been in a few countries (England, Germany, Croatia, Belgium) when they've been playing at different tournaments, so we want to watch Slovenia v. Serbia on a big screen to keep up the tradition. Apart from that, I'll probably watch 2 or 3 games - any minnows that get through the groups, and maybe a semi or the final if I'm going out anyway (a 21:00 kick-off is never good for me - I struggle to watch us in the CL, so I don't see any reason to stay up for any other team just because UEFA told me to).

I think so, I’m 40 next year.

I remember the hype I had before WC 98, Euro's etc. I think everything faded after WC 2010.
I used to buy myself all the Panini albums and stickers, then the dedicated video games.

Now, like everyone mentioned after your post BIB, no one fucking cares.

I don't have much interest in it. Probably will watch a few games if they are on and I've nothing else to do. Otherwise couldn't be arsed.
Much more interested in how our arbitration is faring, is that sad or what.
