Players return dates

Postby blues2win » Tue Jul 16, 2024 7:29 am

Pep has given all players who reached the knock out stages of the Euros extra time off. They are excused from the tour to the US and will return on Monday August 5. So that means Kevin, Doku, Bernie, Ruben, Ake and Akanji. Talks underway with Rodri, Walker, Stones and Foden on their return dates. Down to the bare bones for the Charity Shield. Ederson or Ortega, Rico Bobb McAtee Grealish Haaland. Not a lot of defenders there. Will Kalvin Phillips get a game?

Alvarez going away with Argentina to the Olympics as well so won’t be here for the charity shield.

A fair few probably wont be match fit for the Chelsea away game either.

I reckon all bar those who played in the final will be in the squad for the CS and the rest available for Chelsea.
At Wembley we'll have whichever keeper, Ake, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol, Kova, Rico,, Bern, Kev, Jack, Doku, Bobb, Erl and we might see Savio.

Couto as well? What’s going on with him?

Yes I missed out Gvardiol and Kovacic so two first team defenders Gvardiol and Lewis. I don’t think any of the players who return on August 5 will play any part in the Charity shield. They’ll need at least two weeks proper training, preferably three.

I don't think they'll need that much training as they've not had the normal amount of time -Grealish from memory made his debut in the CS after playing in the Euro Final but to be honest Chelsea is the important one- so long as they're ready for that.

Looks like a slow start to the season. Cant imagine we will see much of the lads who played in the final before mid August.
But we have a fresh Jack ;)

Walker is in court this week with his mistress - absolute panto scenes in the media. I imagine he’ll be given more time off.

Best thing for him is to move abroad and avoid all this nonsense he’s created.
