How the hell did we get to the first game of the new season so quickly? It’s the usual mixed feelings from the home fans about this one. I am fairly relaxed, its too early to be worried and we don’t have the best record for games at the start of the season. Still, given the rest of the results this weekend, I don’t think we can afford to drop points…Now I’m stressed!!

COME ON CITY!!!

Referee: Anthony Taylor
Assistants: Gary Beswick, Adam Nunn
Fourth official: Darren England
VAR: Michael Salisbury
Assistant VAR: Dan Cook.

Team Selection

Sanchez
Gusto Tosin Colwill Veiga
Lavia Enzo
Palmer Nkunku Sterling
Jackson

And the rest…

The thing is, I don't think City look ready for the season either, they were really poor in the Community Shield by their standards and their pre-season hasn't exactly been great at times either. I still think they are fully capable of hammering us though. Our pre-season, especially in defence, has looked abysmal, which is really saying something, because I didn't think they could look worse than they did last season.

They could put their u21 and still beat us. We look terrible.

We’re getting fkd 5-0 or something like that.

Best chance to face them all season. Hardly anyone is back for them and KDB still looks unfit when he came on in the community shield.

Could be a proper boring game - Pep vs Pep…Easy 0-3 to City I think.

Anthony f*cking Taylor as referee. F*ck off you bald c*nt.

I may have to change my prediction now that as it turns out Anthony Taylor is the ref. They will get a pen and we won't get anything.

We haven't lost to City by more than 1 goal in the league in about 4 years so I don't know why people expect us to get thrashed. I'm not expecting a win either mind you but it'll be closer than people think.

City are gonna tear us to shreds. We're simply not ready for a massive game like this at this stage. Good thing we have Servette a few days later. We'll need a good win to boost morale after the City game.

No Rodri for them is huge, really gives our two 8's a chance to take control. I know they didn't have him when they beat us in pre season but it was pre season and we hopefully have learnt a bit from that. Got a bit of preseason optimism/delusion creeping in now, lets have them.

I usually treat my body like a temple. Last night I treated mine like a whorehouse above a liquor store next to a motherfucking Taco Bell.

Cheers CM
Hope you’ve had a good holiday somewhere

Don’t get their doom and gloom to be honest. I think this has the potential to be a very tough game and will be happy with the proverbial three points any old how

Cheers CM for some reason I didn't see this until the match had started which is odd as I've been on here all day...

I think they are in trouble mate. First match is often a team's best effort. We played them without starting Walker, Stones, Foden, Ake, Rodri and Grealish
