You know as well as the rest of us that this is against Pep's wishes. Anything that gives a team an opportunity to break and most often, score against us is to be avoided.

Goals scored from outside the box so far this season - suggests we are already doing it, and perhaps should be doing it more, especially against "park the bus" teams.

Play Josko as a false 9 we will soon be in double figures

The midfielders esp the attacking ones need to start turning up

Indeed they do, but what's missing at the moment is any sort of unpredictability.

We turn up, spend most of the game passing sideways just outside the opposition box, generally getting nowhere, and occasionally losing possession, at which point the opposition break and usually score at least once in a game.

The only variety we use is the long shots, and I'm sure that's not in the plan.

In fairness, both issues seem to be related to Rodri and KDB's absence, Kev supplying the unexpected, and Rodri normally stopping the breaks.

Trouble is now, all these teams know just how to counter our tactics, so some variation is needed.

But of couse, our usual star turns like Phil and Gundo playing shite is adding to the problem.

Could he be the next Rodders?

He's not mobile enough but he's also not a fullback

He's our best defender by a country mile at the minute and he scores important goals as well.

We've scored a quarter of all goals in the prem outside the box so far this season - we're the best at it despite the narrative that we're just tiki taka pass it around and try to score the perfect goal....

We certainly need to do it better.

“In fairness, both issues seem to be related to Rodri and KDB's absence, Kev supplying the unexpected, and Rodri normally stopping the breaks.”

…….and both are masters at scoring outside the box.

Indeed, that irony didn't escape me when I posted that.

You don’t shoot, you don’t score.
