Two gold stars. One for being a great City player before clearing off to Italy.
Two for the backheel
RIP

Bloody sad that. Denis was a great guy, did a lot of charity work too. I know where i was went that backheel went in - old rag fans weeping as they were going down.
RIP Denis.

I was only 7 when he was with us second time round but I do remember the much famed back heal. Another that I met in the legends lounge 10 years ago.

This one has saddened me more than most of the recent legends passing as it makes me think of my own late dad.
He absolutely loved him, heard all about his first spell with us before Torino and he told me that when he went to United he used to go to the swamp when City played away just to watch Denis. He also used to tell me to do the arm in the air celebration when I was a kid, something that I carried on doing even when I was too old to be celebrating sunday league goals!

Me too, my mate was a rag & I could not afford away games so I used to go to the swamp with him, I loved Denis, he was razor sharp in the area, a real fox in the box, although not the tallest he could jump very high for headers, first time I ever saw a goal scored with one of those overhead bicycle kicks. Amazing player & decent bloke too.

My old man did used to say that it seemed like he could fly sometimes the way he could get up and hang in the air
