Can we do it?
Heart says yes, why not.
Head says no
Team selection will be key and critical yo the outcome I feel. The odds are against us and we need to get the details correct.
2-2 Haaland and Marmoush

Club Brugge and Feyernord are going to go further than us this year.
What a joke of a competition.

I am inbetween.
I want to win and rub it the face of these corrupt fucking cunts, but we are getting out sooner than later, no chance of winning it, and if we take these cunts out, the murdering cunts have a simple route for the poor-mans treble.

I want to win but don’t expect to. We’re down in the shit with Feyenoord because we deserve to be with our poor performances in this competition. That’s not a joke it’s a fact.

We have a slim chance as long as Nunes is not near the starting line-up.

This. It's on us both Pep and the players and tactics so far. We deserve to be where we are. Set up and play like last Saturday and we can match anyone. Will we, head says not a chance

How can it not be? We win more of our games and we finish top 8 and not require a play off. It's perhaps unfortunate we drew Madrid but that's the nature of the league system. Better than seedings IMO. Simply that league positions determine who faces who rather than a pre-ordained algorithm

The competition is a joke - that’s nothing to do with us.
Surprised our fans are still arsed about it. Now we’ve won it I couldn’t give a fuck. Wish we’d been knocked out the other week

All we had to do was beat Feyenoord when we were 3-1 up at home with very little time to play and we’d have had a much easier draw than Real Madrid and very likely would have progressed.

All we had to do was hold on against the rags, Brighton, Brentford and we’d be challenging for the league

I was at the match. Just one match 3-0 up at home against Feyenoord. We should have got three points. Stop being silly. Anyway I’m off out. Can’t be bothered to argue with you any more.

After the Newcastle win i am a little more optimistic, but no way expectant.
But who knows which version of city will turn up? It's in the lap of the Gods.

After the hubris of Saturdays tearing apart.of the McMackems, I fear drabness and a drubbing.
If we score, I'll expect us to relinquish the lead like Barbara Woodhouse with Parkingsons.

I reckon if Nico would have played the 1st leg we win that game. He'd have been there for Eddie's horrible kick for the 2nd goal and then the 3rd probably wouldn't have happened.
For all the brilliance of the hat trick Saturday and Sav on the wing Nico was the calming Rodri like influence in the midfield we've missed.
It's going to be difficult today but if we can get ahead on the night anything could happen. Nobody gives us a prayer so it's like a free hit

What is the link between Brugge/Feyenoord going further than us and the whole competition being a joke?
Honest, I'm not being critical.
I personally think the recent changes have been for the benefit. I think it's great that one of the two biggest teams in the world will go out tonight. I think it's great that Munich were within a whisker of getting knocked out by a Scottish team yesterday. I think it makes it more like a cup competition of old whereas in the past we get to game week 5 and 6 and we are going through the motions, and we knew (with the odd exception) who the the quarter finalists would be before a ball had been kicked.
