Just seen it posted on his Facebook. Inevitable maybe but still a sad day.

Incredibly sad. À terrific player. He will be sadly missed. I hope whoever the Club buys will match his achievements. It will be very hard.

An absolute legend.
The best playmaker the Premier League ever had.

Just seen it reported myself. In a way it was expected but it’s still very sad. I thought we might have him for another season but it was not meant to be.
Thanks Kev for all the enjoyable moments you gave us since you came to City and good luck and fortune going forward.

I’ll be at the Etihad at the last match to say goodbye. If we win the FA Cup with him as Captain it will be the best send off though.

The King. The only one to take Colin's mantle. The time is right but I'm heartbroken. Thanks for everything Kevin. The most complete footballer I've ever seen in the blue shirt.

Statue? Probably.
I’m ok with it, although he’s STILL one of the best, the time was coming and it frees up wages and space. I don’t think he can be replaced. Like Silva and Yaya, we just adapt. Kevs numbers are insane. Especially for the PL
Thanks Ginger Prince

Would be fitting if our last memory of him is lifting the cup. What a player

An absolutely great player and club legend. A player who will never get credit he deserves off the wider media, the sad cunts.
Anyway he knows and we know.
All the best for the future.

Cup final on the 17th. If we win it'll be KDB's 17th major trophy at City. Omens.

His goal in the derby! Sending Degay the wrong way at the Stretford End. One of the best blue moments at the swamp…

I do wonder if it’s lined up and that’s why he’s decided it’s time?

Never took to him as a person, but what a player! Won the lot and then some. Hopefully gets a good send off

It’s heartbreaking news, when you look back at the highlights, the goals, the assists…..his contribution has been incredible. In the top 5 of the greatest players I have ever had the good fortune to watch on a regular basis. Good luck in your future Squire, I’ve never considered you as management material, but you just never know. X

Great player certainly, a bit inconsistent in the past couple of seasons and now struggles physically to do a full 90 mins for us . Not sure if he ever saw eye to eye with Pep but who does. All good things come to an end, thanks for all the great memories and your help in City achieving so much.
Good luck in whatever you choose to do

I'm sure there will be plenty of highlight reels, just watched 4 mins of his greatest goals on the BBC Sport website. Really reminds you what a player we have seen and what a team we were. No doubt similar reels can be seen for Aguero, Silva, Toure, Stirling, Foden. Hoping we can repeat
