***City v Palace FA Cup Final Official Match Thread***

This will be the defining game of the season. A pot is on the line after all. And it's traditionally the biggest and most watched fixture of the season and though it has lost a bit of it's magic IMO it's still a showcase event.

Last season’s final was a disgrace that still rankles with me and probably will for a long time yet. We were so unprofessional and were punished by a quite dreadful rag outfit. Palace will be a tougher proposition so I hope we have prepared well and are up for it. I know there's been rumours Pep has been in Spain but they are unfounded I believe do we will have to wait and see if we are game.

Three finals in a row is no mean achievement either. We've got experience in our corner and we've played at Wembley, (Etihad South), nearly two dozen times under Pep. And as such we are big favourites at the bookies.

Hope KDB doesn't start today. His legs have gone and his radar is out of sync. I also would be inclined to start Marmoush. Whether that's with Haaland or instead of him is up for debate.

Can see a close game where we win
2-1 Kovavic and Marmoush

And to all the blues travelling today. Stay safe and have a brilliant day my friends

The BBC currently has two articles on Palace and one on City, which is about Pep being unhappy the Bournemouth game has been scheduled for Tuesday.

Surely the BBC won’t be biased in the build up and on commentary to the actual match……….

100%

I’d also have Rodri on the bench. If nothing else that if we win he gets a winners medal. Which he deserves for me

Hoping we can play well. Palace will not sit back. I think they are a fitter, quicker and more physical team than us. We need a good performance and a win but i'm not very confident at all. Mateta will cause us problems and Eze is class.
Dont need extra time with Tuesdays game on the horizon

Not confident about this. We are playing against a team that has Peps number.
Hope i am gonna eat my words, but I think we are going to lose.

totally agree
saw a clip of the players boarding the train to london wearing sky blue polos and black trousers… they look like a bunch of year 3s (especially bernado and lewis) going on a school trip. embarrassing

We did beat them 5 last time. Whatever happens first half, Palace are going to be very, very tired second half. Worse than they were at the Etihad.

There's a case for bringing Doku, Sav or both on at 60 minutes (even though I put Doku in my team in the other thread)

Never the same without all-day nonsense, 'It's a Cup Final Knockout', Stuart Hall, Eddie Waring etc etc

Not that we got to experience it much, but in those days every cup final was a big watch

Against our bogey team - I think we all know it could go either way.

As always, I am not optimistic.

3 : 1 Palace, BBC will be wanking all over it.

Out of interest what would you have them wear.

It'll be a sponsor thing probably

Based on how some of them have played this season I'd have them dressed as clowns

CL qualification is far far far more important than this match...that's just a fact.

Having said that ,like any City fan, I want us to beat them and beat them well but I have zero confidence......zero.

Not today it isn't. And by the daft team he picked at Southampton, you wouldn't think it had any importance at all :D

What are the odds he picks a similar side ( if not the exact same one ) as he did against Southampton ?
