With the announcement of the England squad this morning I thought a dedicated thread to all things related to this would be useful

Not disappointed Foden isn’t going to be honest. Gives him time to relax and rest and get his shit together

Foden not going will be good for us.
He gets a break and he wont be the fall guy if it goes tits up.
Henderson though, can he even run now?

Listening to all the "experts" going on about Foden not being included as he's hardly played.
Pretty sure he's played loads more than Stones who's going.
Mind you Stones going makes it funnier that Slabhead isn't.

Two opinions
- Surprised slabhead didn't make the squad, there's not much experience in that defence
- Glad Foden was dropped, good opportunity for proper R&R for the first time in years.....just hope it doesn't hit whatever demons he's suffering even more, because we're gonna need him next year

Except Stones, assuming he makes it onto the field, is guaranteed to be class. Foden isn't.

Also depends on other options.

Compared with the options that are going - Foden has scored more than Bellingham and same as Saka this season in the league, in less appearances. Bellingham hasn't had one good match for England, Saka is...fuckin shite

The first XI he'll pick is decent enough but the second eleven available in the squad he's picked would get relegated in the premier League

I am just glad (and shocked) that Sweden qualified for this World Cup event without winning a single game in the qualifiers

If feels a little bit like when Denmark won the Euros (in 1992), despite having not qualified for the competition in the first place.
