Following Patrickblue's post in the Rumours thread, there's a whole host of stories today, including:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... 9m0z4m2mpoWhy he would inexplicably opt to join City, over 300-miles away, relegation threatened Spuds, is anyone's guess.
Also bizarre is the Dippers selling a fella who seems to cause most of their goals. Apparently in favour of Bradley Barcola. Really?

He did 1 good thing for the dippers yesterday, and he was about to be dragged off just before that, so saved himself a few more minutes on the pitch. He end product was woeful and over hit everything.
He is going to cost the same as Savinho but without the speed , dribbling skills and a lot older.
Don't understand this one whatsoever

Without checking, he has this aura of turning up for big games. Always seems he scores against the big boys.
I think we are getting him as a backup for Haaland, not as a winger.

Totally agree WW
If he was £40-50M then yes, as a last resort. Plus I wouldn’t give the dippers the steam off my piss.
There must be better players out there

It would make a liot more sense if we actually got money from Jack going to Sunderland and not on loan.
That said I think he"s more backup for Haaland than a winger/ wide attacker but if so, it is a liot of money at the rumoured price. Having seen him a few times, it's a no from me let him go to Spurs.

We put together our Enzo monies and our Gakpo monies and we make them into one monies and hijack the shit out of the Barcola deal.

With respect, a horrible idea. Barcola is very much unproven

I'd take him unproven over Gakpo every day of the week and twice today.
Said rhe same earlier in the week when this rumour started. Chuck the offer in at PSG although it is probably too late now.

Can’t understand effectively giving him away seeing as his contract expires next summer
I’d still choose Jackie over Gakpo.

I’d sooner actually try with a cheeky £90-100m bid for Wirtz to see if the dippers would cut their losses given how much they’ve spent recently
I know he hasn’t done a lot at the dippers but that can be attributed to how they play and who he plays with. He’s still a very talented young player and in the right set up would thrive. Remember KDB?

You're having a laugh right ?
KDB did well, Chelsea just had about 60 top players at the time!

He did nothing at Chelsea. Wasn’t really given a chance. But that’s my point, a player shouldn’t necessarily be judged for what he does for one manager/team, as another environment might really suit

Yes and it might not. Even if I thought Wirtz was any good, which I don't, we aren't after that sort of player

Wirtz instead of Foden. Yay or nay?

Tough one. I rate Wirtz and was pissed off the murderers got him. They are not playing to his strengths and he would do a lot better in our setup but at present that would be at the expense of Foden.

Signing Bouaddi and Anderson must have been horrific ordeals for you then.
Also, 3 league titles, two Champions Leagues and 28 caps for France?

Correct. I think we overpaid on both of those players. I for one don’t like at all where football is headed with regards to finances. The higher the transfer fees go the more the average punter has to pay. It always trickles down.
I know it’s a tide that isn’t going to be stopped but I simply can’t get on board with it. My love of football has eroded quite significantly over the last few years and sadly it will only continue to do so I suspect. It simply isn’t what it was

He's a good player who in a bad season for Liverpool under a clueless coach still got 16 goals and assist last year. Also got a ridiculous amount of hate from the "you'll never walk alone" supporters while doing so. Is 6'4, can win balls in the air, and can play on the wing or as a striker - and shows up in bic games as his world cup record demonstrates.
Would be a good buy in my opinion and provide us with great depth

I don't think it's a great transfer, but it is good for us and when we need some depth, he's genuinely better than the attackers we've just shipped.
I guess my concern mirrors Notts in that we're paying 85m for a bench player.
