Training Friday 16/11

Back at crisis Carrington to see if any of the players decided to turn up. Apparently Mancini had arrived at the press conference wearing a David Platt mask. Clearly a man in tatters with no sense of humour, I will look forward to seeing that later and no doubt SSN's James whatever his name is trying to put words in his mouth as usual about Edin or Mario or whatever else negative he can think up.

Almost a full squad on view with Rodders involved from the start (although he then drifted off to work 1 on 1 with a physio) Yaya was out very early, long enough for England to lose 2 wickets before anyone else came out! looked like Inside City were featuring today's session with some lucky fans in to watch the training..

Mancini took a team off immediately for some basic shape /formation work.Rumour has it we are shocking at the back and we only just have the best defence in the league so some work was done on defending set pieces. Rekik, Evans, Bossaerts and Meppen Walter plus ANO were drafted in to help with this (they were doing the attacking) AND Gregucci was there, watching Mancini looking after the defensive work again.

Back altogether and it was into 1 and 2 touch games with small and big nets. It came to Golden Goal time and as you might expect Edin got it. That was from a Clichy pass and in the next game Yaya scored first before Edin again and then one of Clichy's classic sprints to close a ball down which ended with him winning it and Edin scoring again.

Time for the end game and a bunch went in.Probably those who Mancini felt had travelled most or played the longest/hardest game in midweek. It was a 7 a side game and plenty of goals.hat tricks from Silva and Tevez and others from Nasri,Sinclair. A real collision between Barry and Massive ended with both on the floor but no sign of injury but late on Silva got a knock which concerned him but he ran it off and looked fine later.

Overall not a long or intense session given the midweek exertions for most of them plus the game is only tomorrow but the spirit seemed great and roll on the Villa.

Looking really good (apart from the knock he got) and always nice to see him score even in a 7 a side game.I don't think he played for Spain.

Doug whats the situation with MJ? does he train with the reserves? or does he have to train on his own?

It seems bizarre that the Guardian keep naming him among the potential subs and he's behind George Evans and Courtney Mepper-Walters in the unused sub appearance stakes

Do you see the injury affecting whether Silva starts tomorrow Doug?

Want to see us go out tomorrow and put down a marker to the rest of the league. No resting players for a likely meaningless game against Madrid. Go out and stamp our authority on this league

Nice Doug.

Sounds like Clichy's back injury that kept him out of the French squad has dissipated. Glad to hear it.

How does Silva score a hat trick (even if it is 7 a side) and fluff all his chances in matches...that guy
needs to score more.

left foot in off the post, one on one with the keeper and chipped him, then an opportunist effort from about 10 yards. He looked like a natural :) Put him down for one tomorrow .

Haha classic Guardian.

Reminds me of reading John Ley's match previews and predicted line-ups in the Telegraph a few years ago. He had Musampa on the right. Trouble is it was October and he'd left in the summer.

Good watching on Inside City with the Tevez goals. He actually got 4 and was on fire but none of the Silva goals were shown at all. We obviously don't want the world to know he is a goal threat.Poor Joe as all the goals went past him
