Training Tuesday 27/11

A low key day today for the one full training session in between 2 premier league games.Mancini's birthday but no signs of celebrations outside when he took the group for the initial briefing. It lasted longer than usual and my guess would be some positive emphasis on the importance of a win tomorrow and how he plans to go about it.

Sam Erith, the fitness coach, put them through a few routines to get the bodies moving and for the Chelsea team it was effectively just a warm down. Some of that team weren't even out at all but they went off to do a little extra work with Ivan before going inside leaving the rest to have a 7 a side game.

To make the numbers up Mancini joined in with one side and his son plus Marin were added. There are always goals in a 7 a side game and today's MotM was Mario. I think he scored 4 in what was a fairly one sided game with others coming from Nasri (2), Maicon and young Mancini. At the other end Garcia scored a nice one and Roberto got on the scoresheet where it looked like he gave the keeper the eyes as he stroked it left footed the other way.The best goal was one of Nasri's where he dummied the keeper then put his foot under the ball to lob it over him.

I see Platt did the press briefing so that's a bit of a present for Mancini but 3 points at Wigan is what he will really want.

Cheers Doug. So Mancini wasn't wearing a badge with "I am 40 something" on it?

Not from where I was standing. But just the sort of thing you might expect Mario to get for him :)

i guess we can fully expect Balo and Nasri in the starting eleven tomorrow. sounds like the two are training well and neither (really) played at the weekend

Any idea why Boycini was playing?

Is it Andrea that's out on loan? I think it was him I saw for the EDS. He looked slow, heavy, lazy, and a bit crap. What's this one like?

Just making up the numbers and the EDS are away in Paris for a game tomorrow I think. Yes Andrea (as you described) is in Italy and this one, Filipe, isn't as good!

Cheers Doug, great read as usual. It will be interesting to see if Lescott makes the 18 squad list for the game.

I expect he will with Vinnys recent injury scare in mind.

Yap.
I really wish he will go for Joleon/Nasti. can be a little bet but, some care of our skipper is well sensed, imo.
also I don't think the pair would result particularly scary and keeping all our 3 excellent CBs fully involved is all important.

btw, Cheers DH, great as usual. Do You really know how much Your efforts mean to us far off?

Lescott and nasti do not like the right sided CB role. I think we might see kolo and nasti.

You are right Sir, but I'd like to see a shout from that pair, nonetheless.
Kolo vs. the quick Latics forwarders? no thanks, imho... ;)
