Training Friday 21/12

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Fri Dec 21, 2012 12:36 pm

All set up and ready to go when I arrived with 4 coaches waiting and only Milner looking keen, lean and mean as ever.Only 16 on show today with the injuries we know about and one or two working inside and having massages. No names so the papers can do their own work ! Good news though to see Vinnie out again and noticeable that he was doing stretches immediately he came out. Inside City were filming so no doubt something will be up on the OS soon.

No Christmas present for me inside the fence but there were a bunch of watchers as usual and strangely not just taking pictures but one also using his Ipad to video some of the training. Can't be right City sort it out!

It was a regulation training session today with 1 and 2 touch stuff after initial warm ups then into games with small nets and big nets where Sinclair scored the first headed goal closely followed by Rekik. Kidd could be heard encouraging quicker passing which overall was very good and the session finished with a goal from Barry.More exercise routines were followed by the final game which turned out to be 8 v 9 as one of the players didn't take part.

The team one player down came under a lot of pressure and had the benefit of Joe in goal who was magnificent with top saves from Kun ,Carlos,Sinclair and Garcia and the only goal for a long time came from a Razak volley. He later unfortunately got a ball in the nadgers and crumpled to the ground.Platt hovered over him and my guess is he wasn't offering much sympathy:)

Sinclair hit a post,Carlos had a great run but shot just over,Edin hit the bar,Silva the post.Razak was over having a pee or maybe just checking everything was still there before he changed sides.A plus for me was Garcia looking confident as too was Vinnie as he hit a post and then Barry scored from some nice work from Milner.

All in all a good session if not the most intense I have ever seen.It really is an important game and a very important run of games....but they all are nowadays.I wondered what would happen today at 11.15 but we are all still here. There was smoke, actually swamp gas, coming from a mile away but that's just normal for that area.

Happy christmas to everyone and lets hope its a blue one.

Nothing re Samir but I expect he wouldn't be fit till the Arsenal game.

I forgot to mention Guidetti was out again today with the reserves. He waved at the 1st team squad when he went out.

Was he gesturing in a kind of 'I'll be there soon fella's. Don't worry, I'll be there'?

Well Doug, you know as well as me that we cannot have 5 strikers in the squad.

Just the image John, rather than the actual text (no offence Doug).

Just imagining him, having been struck down when practically on the verge and all that. Then him watching the first team, across the greensward, through the mist....where he wants to be......oh piss off.

Yeah too much shopping. Which somehow equates to not enough and I have to do more. How does that work?

Agree on poetry... in fact, rather that to pissed off, I went on wondering him as the Scandinavian response to that Mexican lad featured in Goal (the movie).... You know, we the bloke is training with the Geordie EDS and throws glances at Shearer & Co.... :-)
will, John become that good?
