Christmas Eve Training

Just a day to keep things ticking over and spend a little time on preparation for the next game.19 on show today and happily that included Guidetti plus Razak,Rekik,Evans and a couple from the EDS that I couldn't quite recognise.Possible Greg Leigh and maybe Marin.

When I arrived in the dismal rainy conditions I wasn't even sure training was on due to the lack of any activity or bodies but it wasn't long before they started to come out with Mancini and Kidd amongst the starters and chatting away.Platt was there with his little un Charlie so that gave Yaya someone to play with for a while. The opening briefing started with 3 players still trekking across pitches so that's them dropped from the next game.

The regular watchers were herded into the dug out but my positions was better even though behind a fence as they were a pitch and a half away. The downside for me,apart from the rain ,was the bunch of scrote Utd fans wandering around hoping for a ball to be kicked over. When did they come out? Do you know when utd train?

Early jogging and exercises were done in two groups and then some shape and movement practice was also in 2 groups. As this was ended the team from Saturday went inside as Nasri came out for some one to one stuff.Rekik stayed back for a little chat with the boss, you know the boss who never talks to the players!! A positive sign seeing Samir as I was worried about a longer absence and he was joined a little later by Clichy for some running.

So into a game and it was 7 a side so plenty of goals. They came from:
Edin 4
Guidetti 3
Mario 3
Vinnie 2
Milner 3
Evans 1
Lescott 1 ( a jinking run and finish!)
Sinclair 1

Platt played in the game to balance numbers up but couldn't manage to score but did lay one on nicely for Edin.Miss of the match was by Evans. It was like Kun's goal at Newcastle but it went over. Wright made some great saves and was the pick of the keepers although Johansen also did well.

I wasn't going to say anything but I was appalled today that Mancini had them working on defending corners and free kicks and was forcing the defenders to head the ball clear.Totally irresponsible and I would think something must be done about it.

Cheers Doug,
Not even Christmas Eve can stop Your devotion: hat off Sir!
I leave on Sir John to wonder what Lady Higgie could have said... :-)
Great feedback on Nasri and good to see Guidetti on show.

Munich Scrotes: well obsessed since ever, now even as scared as their despicable drunkard leader, apparently

Cheers for your Christmas effort Doug.

Does Guidetti look relatively fit ? 3 goals sounds decent.

Remarkable if he is, considering the nature of his injury.

Glad to hear JG was training with the first team. Interested in seeing what he will be able to produce in the PL.

He did look ok but I would say in the context of just getting through what for him has been the equivalent of pre season training. There were one or two parts of the session where he was working one to one but he did fully join in the game,

His first goal was probably his best moment. Can't remember if it was a pass to him or whether the ball just broke but he just took it perfectly from the left side and sidefooted it into the far corner with ease.He scored 3 and the keeper saved well from him 2 or 3 times and you could see he was gutted not to have scored.

I,for one, would love to see him make the bench sometime and get on but it would probably be best for him if he went out on loan this season when he is fully fit. Will he make it at City, I just don't know but the spell in the dutch league was very encouraging. He is a whole hearted player with plenty of talent and a real desire to score goals. He will certainly give it everything he has.

We were indeed impressed. So much so that I have now corrected Doug's name - apologies, I was thrown by the email address from which his replies came. Thanks Doug - up there with the best we've had this season.
