Training Wednesday 23/1

Back after 3 days off,for me anyway but I don't know what the players did.18 players on show which included Rekik,Boyata and Guidetti and happily Zaba although he didn't take part in the contact stuff later on.Just a few players missing but I expect ok for the weekend. In addition Maicon was working early on with Fausto and looking a lot better than when I saw him last week. 5 keepers also working away and that included Angus Gunn.

Surprisingly no watchers inside at the start although half a dozen later but there a couple scrounging around the fence seemingly desperate for a ball to come over.Early warm up routines followed by Mancini taking a team for some basic work on formation and movements and then a change to a sort of game but only attacking at one end.The fencing around is all much better appointed now so cameras cannot get good pictures so finally they have taken it seriously. It even seems some extra fencing is being put up on the swap side to stop the easy long distance pictures. It's taken 13 months!!

There was plenty of good movement and passing in this session which was being stopped and started so Mancini could get his ideas across and at times change the personnel as well.A change then where they broke into 3 groups for some finishing practice. The players had to complete a short exercise with hoops/cones/poles before running onto a ball at the edge of the box and shooting.Just a short sharp session before they then went back on to a full pitch so the team could work on some attacking plays and made slightly easier as the opposition included Mancini,Platt and Gregucci but a few nice goals taken which would be good for confidence.

After this phase they worked on defending corners and free kicks which just might be relevant on Saturday :) Mancini as ever right in the middle of it all making sure each player was in the right place and knew their job.I thought that might be the end but they came back to another pitch where two sets of goals had been set up to play 2 5 a side games.Teams wearing orange or white or yellow bibs and the 4rh team with none at all.

Hard to tell who won the mini tournament as I was bit far away and goals were flying in all over the place.Dedryk scored a few though ( Maybe his team edged it?) as did Barry but the bit I was worried about was Aguero taking a couple of dodgy tackles and going down. He was fine but I think the ref did have a word to have a little more care.

A good fairly long session with lots of variety and everyone there looking in good nick.

Aguero will always be on the end of rough tackles as he is so quick but luckily hes built like a Tank.
