Training Friday 1/3

Business as usual at 2pm today, switched from the original 11am as I was told by Ivan Carminati when I arrived for the earlier time.Platt and Gregucci were in a passing game when I got to the pitch to wait for the players. The EDS boys were already out working in the background so none of them involved with the first team today unless Boyata and Razak. No Vinnie again although he was out later doing some running and also good to see Aleks and Kun fully involved again after they missed the Wednesday session I saw.

Kolo with a strapping on,Boyata also with one on his knee so a few walking wounded as usual.Early joggings, plenty of stretches and Mancini taking the opportunity to have a chat with individuals as it all got going.Ivan in charge of all this stuff before they all went over to another pitch where all sorts of poles, cones and "walls" had been set up.Slightly strange to set this up where they did as it was in the only part of the whole complex where the photographers could get easy pictures.

After this Mancini took all the defensive unit away to work with them as he had done the other day.Not something he has always done but moreso recently. The rest of the players had shooting practice where they were set up for a shot from the edge of the box.Good that Kun was probably the best of the bunch but Yaya was decent and at times Kolarov awesome.Razak might have taken the honours for best finish of all with a great volley while Barry didn't quite get his volleys right!

Then all the players got back together as Mancini ran a 10 v 10 game.I say ran it although Gregucci was the ref with Mancini staying central on the pitch giving/shouting instructions and occasionally stopping the game to make his points.Sadly I couldn't see too much on this pitch but I think the team were beating the rest!A worrying injury moment when a player got injured and 2 physios went sprinting across and the medical buggy hurried round.I couldn't make out the player for a while as he was being tended too but a heavily limping Nasri did make his way back on after a while.( I think it was Nasri)

I had to leave early anyway but not till a super pass from Zaba set a goal up.Good session today albeit nothing out of the ordinary. All the players seemed well focussed, plenty of energy in the work and a general good vibe coming from them all.

There's an element of double entendre creeping into Doug's reports..... and I like it

Not seen him this week and I don't think he was out with the EDS lads either.(could be wrong) So it looks like he has picked up an injury in his return after a long lay off which isn't unusual.

City have been very quiet on Micah so it's obviously not gone as well as hoped. Now is about when he was expected back but I haven't seen him outside yet.

Injury reports say Micah will be back on the 16th march. if he's not training now i very much doubt that will be right.

Doug, what is Garcia like in training? He's been dubbed 'The Screener; by our row in the ground after the Guardian interview with him. Its curious to see what he's like in a close quarters passing game.

He looks quite an accomplished player in the training passing games. He doesn't look to be clever in his passing and intercepts well which is pretty well what we see or want to see in games.Of course the games are mostly in tight spaces which suits him so it's games which open out with more distance to cover which will test him most as he clearly isn't a speed merchant. There again neither is Barry and he does ok.

I have a feeling that Džeko will start tonight.

Doug, has he been on fire in training?

Nothing special that I have seen but I haven't seen all they have been doing in the last 10 days.
