Training Wednesday 13/3

How lucky am I? Carrington on a Wednesday afternoon watching City train in lovely sunshine! Only slight downside was that they trained on the 2 undersoil heated pitches which aren't the best for viewing but it would at least mean no access for photographers who were around hoping for something.
17 players out there so sadly all the expected players missing. All gentle after the Mancini initial chat as they jogged around in 2 groups and then moved into a two touch passing game. Pass and control on the agenda with this but also pressing and ,for the team with the ball, making yourself available with good angles for a pass.Great watching Barca do that. After that Mancini took a team away for the usual type of work.Probably not THE team though as one or 2 obvious ones were not included.Having said that the boss does change the personnel aroun quite a lot to make sure all the players get the message he is passing on.
3 of the EDS lads joined the group while this was going on so that we had 20 for the 11 a side game at the end.A special prize for anyone guessing who the 3 were. Not 100% difficult bearing in mind where the holes in out current fit squad are.The 1st bit of action in the game said a lot about how it would go. Milner got free down the right only for his cross to be blocked for a corner. There Mancini held the game up while he set up both the defensive and attacking positions.
Not long after came the only goal from Milner but it was a Tevez break (may have been offside) and a roll sideways for Jimmy to tap in.Plenty of work done on attacking against a tight defence with Mancini stopping to instruct and also changing the teams a bit as well. One brief snow flurry later and the game was over. An interesting session to watch with the intensity likely to develop as the week goes on.I left as Zaba,Milner and Silva were discussing how their interplay should work down the right side.
Rodwell was out doing plenty of running which is in line with his expectation to be back by the end of the month.
