Training Friday 12/4

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Fri Apr 12, 2013 12:02 pm

Back to Carrington for my first time since the win against the swamp dwellers and everyone in great spirits although one or two missing. Not sure what Mancini has said in the press conference so nothing from me apart from re Silva. He is obviously just a maybe but it was good to see him doing some running outside.

18 on show today with Razak one of them and I think ( they were quite a long way away!)Rodders was one of them.Early warm ups was followed by Mancini taking a team away for a quick shape/formation session while the other passed a ball around. Then onto a game with one team trying to score in a proper net while the others had to score in 5 a side nets but only after 10 passes had been completed. This game was 8v8 as one player just went off with a physio and the spare man wore a different bib and played for both sides depending on who had the ball.Edin and Carlos scored goals and Carlos' goal was all about his harrying skills and he closed the keeper down and knocked in the loose ball.

A short session followed where the Monday team worked on a few specific routines whilst the rest had some shooting practice and then it was onto the game to end the session and a very early goal from Nasri, flicked past the keeper with his right foot.Hard for me to see all the detail of the game being played at the far end of a pitch but Richard Wright was playing at left back. We need cover there as papers are even now telling us Clichy is possibly leaving.Idiots.

The game was very tight and I guessed it was coming to a close,Yaya worked a bit of space to score with a great left footer and golden goal was announced. It took just a few seconds before Sergio scored (or was it Carlos, damned curtains!) but anyway that was it

Nothing at all from what I saw. When they needed a keeper initially it was Wright who came over. Then when the game started both Costel and Joe were the keepers.

looks like Micah has been playing CB for the EDS and Maicon RB....so i guess both are good to go but maybe need a little match fitness..
is that how they look at training?

They both played Monday as you said and Micah trained on Friday when I was there. Maicon didn't though so my guess won't be involved.Micah may well make the bench though depending on who else is available.

No new thread for this Friday's training as there isn't any! I understand they were in Thursday after the Wigan game for warm down stuff and some bits and pieces but today is a day off before they leave tomorrow for London and the Spurs game.No doubt some training tomorrow before they go but I can't make that as Saturday is the start of the cricket season.

Our players really need some rest .
You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

Do you think Silva will play on Sunday?

I for one hope he does and I hope he recovers in time.

A decent interview by Kiddo and he's still got a bit of hope for the league. Praises the players as well.

Sadly it doesn't but thanks anyway.I get a message about Adobe something and flashplayers and stuff I know diddly about so I can't see any videos at all now.I must have done something on Wednesday when I managed to get a stream for the match cos since then it's been buggered.

Hopefully someone who has a clue might be able to sort it over the weekend.
