A bit rusty but not bad - he let thier young whippet get past him a few times when he was sitting on Lescott's shoulder though.

Just put £440 for Man City to beat Portsmouth. Get £690 back. Great odds in my opinion.

Now, that doesn't seem so satisfying! My motto as always been, 'Never Bet on City', but that may change soon ;-)

Good result, Lescott slotted in well and we progressed.

Please to see us field a strong team; until we start winning things we can't start fielding shadow teams, however good they may be. Palace's left-winger Moses might be worth keeping an eye on as well.

midfield 3 were superb tonight. front 3 still need time to work out each others movement, but they showed signs of it tonight. shaky start from toure but himself and lescott settled into the game, need to work on keeping the line for offsides, would like to see ned in for micah. mention for bridge as well got forward and closed down fast and quick. swp and micah do not seem to be linking like they used to. thought swp could have released him a couple of times.

Great game, i really enjoyed that and for me the most positive thing about it was, i know for a fact that was a game the city of old would have lost. i sat in front of the telly box, first half thinking "we haven't crumbled yet..... we still haven't crumbled.... still not.... ???", its just a massive sign city is changing for the better. we really are a great team now. i fooking love it. i have to pinch myself at times though.

Yeah, we were well impressive against a Palace side that were v. good too.

1) Micah wasn't as bad as people are making out
2) I don't think Zab is a better player at all and I believe that people are just calling his name because he's 'someone else'
3) Ade & SWP have been our brightest attacking players this season
4) It was nice to see Tevez get off the mark
5) Given is fucking immense. Top 3 'keepers in the league no doubt, arguably the best

Overall I'm very pleased to be through. Give us a home tie next and I'll take anyone. ANYONE!

I don't think there is an argument against, best in the Prem probably in the top 5 in the world. An absolute steal and criminally underrated for years (thank goodness)

Not long since back, Sehurst Park, what a dump. In typical Warnock fashion palace knocked endless long balls upfront hoping to pick up the scraps with their skillfull widemen. City a cut above though and we barely got out of 2nd gear.

We have grinded out 3 wins and 3 clean sheets against some pretty physical and aerial sides so far. Exactly what we couldnt do last season.

Watch us get murdered by football teams now ive said that.

Fuck me.... 5 wins on the trot now... after we have won on Sunday (hehehe) we will have already won as many points from away games in 2 aways games as we did all of last season.

What a season this could turn out to be if we keep this momentum going... and to think that the team only had such little time to play together, I am amazed how well we click already... it's only going to get better I think.

Potential gained by signing Lescott is obvious but right now, imo, we've got 2 talented CB's who've got absolutely no understanding & several RB's who are positionally dodgy & all need help from the CB's who are going to be too busy sorting their own games out to give it. We've got a potentially fantastic team but imo we're now a lot less likely to beat Arsenal & Utd than we were this morning.

On the plus side & giving myself a pat on the back, the scenario that I called at corner kicks (Lescott causing interference leaving Tevez etc free to sneak in) has already happened & it's clear that Lescott's movement causes all kinds of problems & is a different class to what Dunney offered us. I'm confident that my other prediction (RSC to cause big problems at corners alongside Lescott) will also come true & we'll be very dangerous, at long last, in that department. That will make a big big difference to us in the future.

Definitely work in progress. Some great football but Palace got into too many dangerous positions for my liking so plenty to think about .Thier midfield cannot be given that sort of time to find passes , crosses still need to be stopped at source etc but 3 clean sheets is great and still without us playing at our best in any game.
