Unnecessarily Uncomfortable was the way Gary Neville put it and he was absolutely right. But the result is all that matters. Demichelis is playing very well. Massively improved and very important to us at this moment in time.

Pellegrini has confirmed that Yaya doesn't have an injury.
Sergio has also just tweeted saying he's fine and was taken off as a precaution.

great news. i def thought Yaya was taken off as rest and a precaution coming off his thigh injury.
sergio, though, looked like he pulled his groin. id be surprised to see him start vs Villa...that could come too early for him

This from the BBC website:

"Manuel Pellegrini's side were nowhere near their best, and were reduced to some fairly blatant time-wasting near the end..."

Beyond a joke.

We banged 3 goals in away from home against a side 5th in the table. A side that we have consistently struggled to beat for 20 seasons.

Had that been the rags, or the dippers, they would never have used the expression "blatant time-wasting". Instead, they'd have written "Saw out the game with determination" or similar.

I'd never really cottoned on to the media bias before this season, but once you develop an eye for it then it really is so obvious.

Pretty disgraceful really.

(Apologies if already mentioned).

The result is all that matters. Hopefully some journo somewhere will make the point but won't hold my breath

Plus nine goal difference now, by the way.

59 overall.

For 96, against 37.

It's astonishing that there is a bias against City given that we have scored 150 goals and 90 at home. We gave the League Cup back it's mojo too. They should remember also that none of the top four before today had won at Everton. Only winning the title now will get the praise we deserve but if we fail f*** em it's the taking part that counts.

Henry Winter match summary in Telegraph online is very good....no Tyler drivel there.

Lineker just said "it's not like Liverpool have ever won 9-0 against Crystal Palace before", Danny Murphy seemed to find this quip so hilarious I thought he'd need oxygen.

And I think we can feel justified for the 96 too.

Yes of course, I was being selective, but I stand by the point that such play by the two other teams mentioned would never have been referred to as "blatant".

Unfortunately for them, this season Palace have conceded fewer goals than Liverpool.

That was the most horrificly tense, painful & stressful City match I think Ive ever watched. The final 15 mins alone took 20 years off my life.

Thought Kompany, Demichelis, Ferna, Milner and Nasri showed major cojones whilst Edin again popped up with goals & he's carried us up front for 3 months now and will need to do so 2 more times if the dream is to be realised.

Two to go, #together #mcfc

I never thought I would feel a stress like I did at QPR but that today was up there with that game. A great day though and fantastic to be part of our away support which is immense.

Couldn't give a monkeys what anyone says but that is one hell of a victory away at Everton. There are some tired bodies and minds out there in that team but they got the job done.Just 2 more to go and they will be tough I am sure but I hope they both don't go to the wire like this one did.

Has Garcia been slated yet? Absolutely miles off the pace as usual.

Everyone else great to some degree.
