My commentary
First half - "What the *** *** ***** **** ***** ********* **** **** **** is this?"

2nd half - "Sorry love" to my wife who was watching location location location or similar.

Great great result in the end against a well organised 10 at the back, it was a hard tiring game in terrible conditions, hope it doesn't leave the team a little tired on sun.

Just dipped into RAWK, not a happy bunch, especially as we were singing about poor Stevie G. Apparently we don't have any songs of our own...

I think we should pack the defence and midfield to ensure a draw on Sunday.

Or should we go for 4 and blow all goal scoring records away?

Where's that 'Next' thread when you need it!

I don't like to be greedy and would be just satisfied with another league title in three years after a couple of decades of hoping for a cup final appearance, but yes please, give me the prem league scoring record too! Pellers, you have spoilt me!

Be nice, wouldn't it. I'm sure the team will oblige.

We should go for a win and see how it pans out - IF we look likely to get the scoring record then we should go for it.

I suppose we could, but is that going to happen?

Am now marvellously pissed up following the stress and glory of that performance. Support was fuckin' awesome tonight. Proud of the boys and proud of my fellow blues. In a dirty box tonight with a Scottish dipper who was yapping for Villa the whole time. Bit quieter by the end. Bring on Sunday. Will be there with my boy 8 years old - let's male history. CTID

Question: What happened during that save where it seemed the ground swallowed him up and he came up looking like back in the 70's?

I was behind, so couldn't see him, but after the ball went upfield, he went and wrote his head with his towel.

There was a point at 1-0 when I was concerned the match was at risk, as it was throwing it down and you could see the spray coming off the ball, so I'm not surprised he got a bit muddy.

What a game this was. Enthralling first half, nerve-wrecking at best. Couldn't find a way past Villa's 10 man defence. We kept probing in the second half and Merlin the Magician finally did his thing and broke down the bus. Dzeko stepped up yet again. Great team performance from the lads, including the subs. And to top it off, Yaya put the icing on the cake with an amazing goal! The only negative was that Hart failed to get the ball which allowed Villa to hit the woodwork.
Apart from that, well done lads. More of this on Sunday please!

For me that was as good a performance as we've seen all season. Six or seven nil hidings are nice and all but having the patience to pick apart a team that is defending in numbers, and doing so very well, takes a certain mentality.

When Liverpool needed to break down Chelsea, Gerrard had nine shots from outside the box in the second half. He and others ran out of patience and ideas. We didn't, and that's the difference.

The first goal was always going to be enough given how little a threat they offered so to go on and score more was very nice.

It was superb. Patience, skill, intelligence.

What I particularly liked was the fact that obviously when they got together at half time, the Count just refined a couple of things to work on, then put it into practice. It was obvious that a goal was likely to come from getting a fullback or Milner round the back, but there had been a lack of bodies in the six yard box, too many defenders to get the ball through & a lack of end product.

Tried it for a bit with Milner, didn't quite come off, so on comes Jovetic to drag the defenders about, Zabba sneaks through unawares now Milner has gone, Dzeko fights like fuck to get near post; goal. Pure raggery in a way.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Dzeko has just picked up two near post goals in two games 2nd half. The Count has reminded him at half time to get in there & reminded the others to put the ball in there.
We had this nailed early season then lost our way with it. Great to see it coming back together.

recorded it and planned to watch it after work today but i was so nervous that i had to check my phone for the score. saw 1-0 and then 3-0 and breathed a sigh of relief.

just watched the 2nd half and man we were good. i had no idea that it'd be 4-0 so that Yaya goal was a fantastic surprise.

i dont know if my heart can take Sunday. i probably wont be able to sleep Sat night.
