Good teams grind out wins and and don't always play well. As Vinny said we would have dropped them points last season but we didn't. We are on the verge of something really special and I for one is starting to believe.

If you think that we are going to play 5* Brazillan football every week then your deluded. Just look across town to the team that's about to win a 19th title by grinding out results in a season where they have been no where near their fluent best.

Didn't mean to offend you pal, its just that the first thing I thought when I read both the title and your post was that you'd had a few!

I do agree with you though, we were shite. Its that end of the season where players get tired though, particularly when they've played more than most other teams.

I think shite is going too far. For a while we were quite good and seemed to be relaxed and moving the ball around well.Bit like in the BBurn game the other team then worked a few things out and played better and it made us look nothing much.

BUT we still had a number of really really good chances. Score 2 or 3 of those and win 4 or even 5 and most of this place would be going OTT again like after the Slumberland game. All we missed was a couple of good finishes( or one good striker)

Let's play pretend that none of us have any idea when City have ever held their nerve...and you educate us. Or conversely, when City didn't hold their nerve.
Maybe it is simply you losing yours mate.

I'm genuinely bit shocked. Like I said in the match thread, this is the reason why I've been trying to stay away from the site during and after the games.

Now maybe I'm just some easily pleased fool but I enjoyed the game yesterday. I thought we played good, yes good, football. We were innovative going forward and in general defended well AS A TEAM. Finishing wasn't quite as sharp as it should've been but about 15 shots on goal will tell you that we weren't exactly strugglin either.

I thought that we grinded a result in Blackburn. I didn't think we were in any danger losing the game there either but they put us to task and we scored that one goal and closed the shop. Which is just fine for me in the business end of the season. But like I said, I thought we played well yesterday.

What's even more worrying though is that people have started to moan WHEN WE WIN. I don't get this. I don't get this at all. Expectations of some people have raised to unreasonable level imo. We are expected to win every game 6-0 or we are completely shite.

We are cruising to 4th spot and we got FA Cup final coming up. I have probably NEVER been happier in my lifetime with where we are as a club. After decades of going on about what we should do to get to some level or another, I'm personally going to just enjoy this for a while.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I still maintain that without Tevez we play better AS A TEAM.

Longball is a total WUM. Always has been.

My only criticism from yesterday is that we didn't play like Barca after going 2-0 up. I'd have loved us to have maintained 70% possession for the remainder of the game to have completely snuffed them out.
