Then, when Aguero leaves or is another year older for the 2021-2022 season we have Jimenez

Is he not 29 already? He would then be 30, coming up to 31 the season after next. Good player I agree, but if we are to go doothe short term fix road I'd sooner have Lewandowski myself

I think Saul is taking the piss but he’s the same age as KDB - he probably has at least half a decade of top level performances left in him - he’d improve us instantly and would love to see him here

Garcia back home sadly for us our academy and Pep have highlighted Barca made a mistake. No blame on Pep. We are a big club with elite players who at this age are not all like Foden. We have been getting very good money for a number of years for academy players on our terms. We are going to have to get used it.

This one is not about lack of opportunity.

I think Mase asks a fair question, this policy of bringing youth players from Spain, is it worth it when Barca or Real come calling they jump ship?

The fact that Pep is buying Ake and likely one more top CB means this is 100% about lack of opportunity. Garcia will hardly feature next season as 4th CB and is 100% correct for wanting to leave. Not saying he'll play more for Barca but at least he will also be "going home" and will be at Barca.

On the other hand Pep could be buying Ake because he has known for a while that Garcia was likely to leave?

. . . maybe Garcia's off ços he knows Pep's not far behind

I would not be shocked to se Laporte win the presidential at Barca he would want Pep Txiki and Soriano back as it’s a scorched earth thing at Barca.

Up to now , PeP has the benefit of the doubt...but its under review by many fans out there.

We've also bought and sold young players so we use the academy as a revenue source as well as a place to develop players.

We haven't had a naturally club grown player that is not an u21 (no need to be registered for CL or PL) in the squad since Micah. Even Hart was purchased.

Garcia's from Barcelona and we bought him from their academy.

Also, we have little room for him and have sent that message given we've signed Ake and are going to sign another CB.

Barca are a mess, with some highly paid CB's, but Pique is quite old and I gather he believes he will get more chances as a result of this.

He also knows Pep likes to rotate. I can see how that is particularly appealing to some players (read: Sane).

I see the scum are continuing their financial model of paying players 350 k a week —- if anyone has fucked up the transfer market it’s them cunts .

This gets no where near the negative coverage it would have got if it was us.

Sancho on a reported 350 k a week - 20 years old !

Saw a clip of him kart night, admittedly only for one of the barca goals but he was nowhere near . Not his biggest fan . I do hope we have done our homework this time we cannot afford to spunk another 50 + on a bigger version of Mangala

PeP has a D- for creating his defense since hes been with us - abysmal in fact.

He can ill afford to fuck it up again next season.

Theres a reason why Koulibaly is widely considered one of the best CBs in the world. Dont let one poor match against Messi (which is the only time youve seen him play) be the only thing that informs your opinion of him.

Case and point: Varane had an AWFUL match but Id still take him in a second. Top 5 CB along with Ramos, VVD, and Koulibaly.

If you had read my previous comments regarding him, you would know that i was in Naples when Aguero ran past him and we put four past this world class CB and the rest of his defence. I've not been impressed by him and we cannot afford to spunk more money on a CB who has no experience over here. Big gamble for me, I hope we have done our homework

Who said I was talking to you?

But since you responded...which CB would you prefer? You say you want someone with experience over here so that drastically limits the options.

Genuinely don't know the answer. We have wasted millions on the likes of Mangala and Stones. In Mangala's case, we couldn't have watched him twice else his flaws would have been highlighted. Stones I thought was starting to look the part but he has fallen off a cliff and has got to go this summer. We need someone to fit straight in but I'm not convinced the kid from Napoli is the answer. He may look good in a slow paced league but playing in a high line over here is a concern

He is decent, but not more that 40 mil decent.
As I said earlier, Napoli had the worst defence in top 7, he is no world beater, plus his age is no advantage.

For me he is a panic buy because there aren't any defenders out there left. Not like they were.

Fair but you can't use Napoli's defensive record as evidence of whether Koulibaly is good or bad. There are 3 other defenders plus a keeper plus a defensive midfielder that contribute to a team's defensive record.
