Don't see how people can call Pep's record on buying defenders "abysmal" when he's brought in Ederson, Walker and Laporte- Golden Gloves, Laporte has got a better minute per goal ratio than VVD and Walker has been immense.
If Laporte had been fit all season or if Van Dyk had had an injury like Laporte had it would probably have been as close as last season and that's without the VAR cock ups.

Danilo and Cancelo both good players. Danilo did a good job for us. Cancelo has started to. Mendy looked great when he first came until the injury and has started to look good again since the restart. I don't think anyone questioned the Stones deal at the time.

alternative to Kob is Jose Gimenez of Athletico Madrid. He'll cost a fortune to prize him away, think his release clause is 110m euros or something.

We need to unearth a gem, I'm starting to have doubts about Kob, his age and pace is a concern the more I think about it. One name springs to mind is Dayot Upamecano of RB Leipzeg, only 21, strong with pace, bags of potential, younger version Kob but with pace, worth a punt

Yes the defence needs improving, Otamendi is on his last legs, Stones seems to have given up and Garcia looks like he's off.

But to dismiss the impact of Laporte's injury is ridiculous. We kept 11 clean sheets in the 14 games he started.

The counter argument of those points is the dippers hardly changed the defence all season and conceded 2 less than us.
We hardly conceded a goal when Laporte played.
