Really open to interpretation, you are right. For me it's sounding like he is saying they are not good enough.

After those comments I am convinced he needs to go now and we remove the risk of him destabilising and upsetting the squad further, he was at fault last night, I don’t like him insinuating it was the players When he got it so wrong tactics-wise

Posted a bit of this quote earlier from City's site. It's either as you say HDS aimed at a mis-judged kick up their arses for not carrying out his mystifying gameplan or more likely
a shout out to the top that he needs more money to spunk. If it's the latter, I hope he gets the curly finger and invited on a video call with the Sheik to explain himself

I think it is curly finger time for me, or at least a fucking bollocking of severe proportion, or as they say these days a “job performance review situation “

I heard the original statement and it seems to me like he wants to improve them , not chastise them .

Yesterday during the day and for a couple of days beforehand - Nothing in the press about our game. Things don't work out for City suddenly there are dozens of articles - all absolute boooolllloox. Scouse and rag fans jump on this click bait .
all three Lyon goals were defensive disasters . They created nothing - we presented everything to them

No doubt but did the fuck-ups come as a result of the midfield being all over the place and in the main, too slow exposing what we all know is a makeshift defence? Play our usual 433 and we may have been able to take even 3 goals on the chin
Whichever way you look at it, that's on the manager, again in a af of the chumps league. I look at his comments as him absolving himself of blame and frankly, he has dropped in my estimations.
If he is planning to go in 12 months, I would be inclined to bring that forward now unless he commits to at least another 2 after next season

No , Laport screwed up with his high line for the first, Laporte screwed up for the third and the daft bugger sat on his arse for the second complaining to the ref .
Now that is where Pep can improve his players . If the whistle wasn't blown get your sorry arse back in position and that goes for all defenders .

Buck stops with the manager. When we win the 4 trophies everyone says how great Pep is. When he gets it totally wrong against fuckin Lyon he needs to take the blame. Not divert it to his players. Absolute cock move.

When a manger publicly blames his players it rarely ends well.
Very silly comment, unless there's an alteror motive.

What is it with you and this ulterior motive agenda Zuri? You were at it earlier. What is it if he is not blaming the players - his comments sure as hell say he has taken them as far as he can. Are you alluding to him falling on his sword

We didn't have a midfield we had eight defensive minded players.
Still doesn't excuse Laporte running ahead of Walker
He ( Laporte) can see the line Walker couldn't , but was making sure the player he was marking was offside. For example.

For all the praise he heaps on him, Pep clearly doesn't trust Foden. Of the two, I'd keep Foden. Pep is a busted flush.

Foden had a great game against Real Madrid and his prize for playing really well was ?..back on the fuckign bench against Lyon.
Makes me seethe.
