Whats the point of this? That they got good after Pep left? If so you couldnt be more wrong. After Pep left they struggled in Europe and burned through Ancelotti, Heynckes, and Kovac before lucking into Flick. Pep leaving crushed Bayern and if they were in a domestic league with legitimate challengers it wouldve been more obvious.

Then theres Barca who have been a shambles since Pep left especially in Europe. Only one brilliant season of the MSN got them a post-Pep CL trophy.
Tito: 13 months in charge
Martino: 10 months in charge
Enrique (with MSN): 3 yrs
Valverde: 2.5 yrs
Setien: 8 months

Your comment is as bad as some rag tabloid with an agenda.

So we stick with pep and still get the same results as his previous clubs?

What point are you making here? Have you not noticed we’ve been as bad or worse than both in Europe since pep has been here? Or are you such a Pep cultist you’d rather point out other failures rather than his?

"Pep cultist"? not even. i dont care if he stays or goes. but, im also not "looking a gift horse in the mouth" as they say. he's dominated England in since coming. I struggle to see who City could appoint that would be better. I'm also not delusional enough to think that big name players will continue to come when he leaves. Virtually all of the recent signings have mentioned Pep as a strong reason why they joined.

Personally, I don't care about the CL at all. Yes, it was incredibly frustrating to see Pep cock up the Lyon match and I hate losing but, when its all said and done I dont really care. I'd much rather we dominate the domestic competitions. I know this will make it harder to attract big name talent and that's the quandary.

Curious to see you asking what my point is when i asked you what yours was. You made some claim that insinuated Bayern are now CL favorites because Pep isn't there. I resoundingly disproved your ill-thought out idea. So that was my point.

I was looking a bit at the first eleven PSG has tonight.
4 of the starting lineup won an european trophy: 3 UCL and 1 Europa League. While Mbappe won the World Cup.
From our squad only Europa league (Fern and Sergio), no UCL or World Cup (Mendy doesn't count because he was in Russia in 2018 just for the numbers).

Maybe that might be an argument on our terrible european run.

Dave Silva? Mentality is everything and I don’t think ours is a player problem, more a Club one. As in, we’re not part of the established cartel.

Dave, yeah, was thinking about him, but didn't add him as I was looking at our current squad.
But still he didn't win anything with Valencia in Europe? Just with Spain.

Pep is not bomb proof we are not used to such expectations ever, but for me sort the lop sided squad, get us defending as a unit week in week out. I would like him in for 3 years, if not what are we doing?

That was the point I was making, yes, he’s a very good manager but he’s not irreplaceable and if you look at Bayern they are now champs league champions.
I see we’re now apparently locked into another centre back battle and don’t seem to be focussed on alternatives - seems to happen every summer - also, we’re not moving on deadwood in the squad - I am not saying all this is peps fault However the lack of clarity from him about his contract is a frustration

Still cant get my head round why we arent after that kid at Leipzig. 21 year old central defender with everything we need, its boggling.

I feel like our squad is all over the place at the minute.

One keeper and no confirmed back up option
3 left backs of which none are of the required level or durability.
6 centre backs with only 2 at the level needed and one who could be wanting out.
We have two attacking central midfielders when we would normally have 3/4 with one of them being inexperienced.
2 strikers of which one is old and injury prone.

Normally we can see a clear two players per position in our squad where all are top notch. Its a bit messy at the moment, we need to clear out so much deadwood and get some new fresh quality in.

We are also badly missing some leaders. I re watched the all or nothing documentary and we had big characters winners in the dressing room. Since then we have lost Yaya, Vinny, Leroy, Dave Silva...even delph looked to be a big character who got the dressing room going. Not to mention the loss of Arteta who maybe a bigger loss than we anticipated as he got english dressing rooms. The new guy maybe a genius but having never worked in England hes not going to be a presence in our dressing room(maybe that will come i dont know).

We have lots of work to do and little time. We need to start this season fast strong and focused or we are all in for disappointment.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree with this point - particularly, the CB issue. We have had since January(at very least) to look ar alternatives to VK - this should have been our number one priority it has got to get done and be a good fit.
It has not been helped by Pep pissing around at left back where we now have Mendy, Zinch, Cancelo and the returned Angelino. Two of these are surplus and need to go albeit that it probably won't be Cancelo as he can cover RB.
Going to need to find an alternative (s) for Sergio next summer so that search and due diligence needs to take place this season
All if this is dependent on Pep and his plans so we need that clarity - is it now 2 years left for him?

It’s one year but rumour has he might extend for a year - completely agree about the squad balance, it’s an absolute mess, as you say

Ill give PeP till 1week before we kick off before I go after him over his signings for our club- hes had more than enough time ffs !

Up to now , he has spunked 100 plus million on Mendy and Stones and both are failures - proof of the pudding is if we sold them no one would bat an eye lid...actually there would be celebrations...... there is also a huge question mark on Cancelo's appointment..a fuckign 60 odd million question for a player who , up to now , has been average and you certainly don't dish up 60 million plus for 'average'.

Spot light is well and truly on PePs bald head.

This

When you look at Cancelo and Rodri being our most expensive signings ever........you have to scratch your head and wonder WTF Pep was thinking.

I do think Rodders might come good. Cancelo, similar to Ange, wasn’t given more than 3 games in a row in his first season. I really don’t know why with some players Pep forces them straight in and doesn’t drop them for ages, whereas with others he barely gives them a chance. Possibly ones he wasn’t keen on buying?

Maybe Pep compares every fullback to Alves. Unreal energy possibly the best attacking fullback in the modern era. Defending decent but the attacking outweighs any flaws. I do know, what is bleeding obvious is when we fail to get ahead, every blue thinks the same. Oh dear here we go. If he after jigsaw pieces to fit a system, Khaldoon has to step in. The evidence is clear, sit back force City through the middle and counter. I love Ferna unreal player but done as a force as-much as Vinny was. He has shoe horned him in and ruined him. We need Edderson supported by defending as good as he is. The front 6 or 7 can attract all they want, we ship 1st goal we look fucked, it needs sorting, The scousers are going to take some stopping. We seem to say via the chairman our recruitment is decided by committee in advance no panic buys, we have no evidence of that.

We hardly saw Fern in his natural position during his career for City, which he excelled in - fuckign criminal really.

PeP needs to stop trying to plug round holes in square fuckign pegs....in the ideal world we all want players to be able to do 2 jobs instead of one but the whole point of buying an expensive player is to play him in his natural role.
