Up to now , he has spunked 100 plus million on Mendy and Stones and both are failures - proof of the pudding is if we sold them no one would bat an eye lid...actually there would be celebrations...... there is also a huge question mark on Cancelo's appointment..a fuckign 60 odd million question for a player who , up to now , has been average and you certainly don't dish up 60 million plus for 'average'.

A bit soon to suggest this IMO.

He had some excellent moments and games for us.

Whether he can be paired with defenders and no 8s who have no pace is another question.

Maine man Khaldoon has just done his end of season interview and in it he states there will be more signings this summer and the club will move away from its 23 / 24 age group signings to strengthen significant weaknesses . Real shift in strategy there and welcome with our diabolical defensive situation.

I agree, he hasn't lived up to what we'd hoped, but Bernardo didn't in his first season. Of course he was poor after the Mendy incident last season and never recovered so I hope he revives himself as that was a massive loss to our season as well.

Whilst he does not have pace, he was understood to be strong with positioning. Adjusting to a new league and style of play is something to consider as let's be honest, Atletico play a completely different style of football. Defenders also were used to having Dinho run around and clean up the mess where has Rodri is a different type of no. 6.

You can see that he has a deft touch and feel for the game. Everyone thought it was a steal when we purchased him and Atletico were fuming as they did not want to lose him at all.

Not ignoring the concerns mate, but if he doesn't improve this season then you can ask more questions as I expect we will have a more stabilised back line to play him with.

I seen that too. I think its Koulibaly hes getting at. Maybe Messi if opportunity allows it but the core will be 20-25.

Of course rampant speculation that this means Messi, but more likely means someone like Koulibaly.

I defend Gundo plenty, as he does offer qualities despite the legit critiques, but I will say I wish we could switch him for Aouar or Thiago.

Worried about Thaigo to Liverpool as he gives them a massive upgrade, and it that seems likely.
