Btw, the reports that we have £300m to spend doesn't mean you just throw it around. The truth is that those who keep whinging on about this don't mention is that there aren't really players we want who want to come to us available this close season.
I think we know Koulibaly has weaknesses (i.e. for has big as he his not so great in the air) and is not young, so the price is ridiculous as he's also not HG. Just because we "need" a CB and won't meet with them other than a 3rd party doesn't mean we should just spend whatever.

It's as if no one thinks of any long term consequences of this. You have to stand strong as this is a long term approach and we can still win and someone else may become available or emerge.
Ake is a decent enough CB, to me, that it's an improvement compared to Otamendi and I know we are all angry at Garcia, but he showed some things and should get better and will play some (possibly against Wolves).
The window is also not over and this is a strange one.
Liverpool have done well, but the players they're signing are different and oh, we did get Torres for FAR below his value. Even Rodri would have gone for more if there wasn't a release clause, despite how much our fans doubt him.
I'm not as hopeful this season, but it's a good test, even if I wish we knew what was happening with Pep. Maybe he worries the players aren't listening to him as much. If he walks or is trying to assess that and/or maybe we have a wink wink deal with Pocchetino to take over after he leaves.
Hard to say, but this is the weirdest transfer window I can recall of late for the "summer."
