They're working on the principle of if you buy enough, one's got to come good eventually.

He's Portuguese?
Bit worried Wolves haven't bid for him. How good can he be?!

We usually give better players away in deals for as long as I can remember. I’m sure Quinn was part of some deal to get Craig Russell? And Paul Walsh maybe?
Just proof we fail to replace the class we let go. Kolarov being the perfect example.

Laport?
Apart from Laporte and Kompany since the takeover, we haven't had top class CBs, yeah we had CB's whom had one-off good season and been shite the rest.
It's always a gamble buying CBs.
People keep banging on about choices, do we actually know the list or are we going by the media which is guess work? Did the club officially release a list (fantastic 4) I'm not aware of?

Napoli, Atletico, Sevilla all confirmed they rejected bids from us.

Probably the opposite Hazy. They’re desperate for us to bid because for some reason they still think they’ll be able to milk us.

Worse than what we have it can't be so let's see.
And about Laporte, he is ok, but let's not forget some incredible brainfarts he had in super important moments, including versus Lyon.
Add that he is injury prone and we have a problem.
But really, we can buy Beckenbauer in his prime and he will be fucked by Mendy.

It always takes some people (clubs) a long time to realise that things have changed.

Also Wolves spent 45 passing only on his side because all 19 teams in the league know he is our weakest link and a calamity in the making.

Ruben Dias has already completed his medicals in Portugal ahead of a move to Manchester City, and will travel either today or tomorrow to Manchester. Nicolas Otamendi will arrive in Lisbon tomorrow to sign for Benfica.
Dias joins #ManCity for €71m and Otamendi joins Benfica for €15m. Benfica receive €56m.

Yeah, probably noticed Sterling wasn't doing enough to protect him and also aware he was on a yellow (for nothing) so tried to capitalise.

Still stunned we didn’t move for Suarez, who scored twice for Atletico on his debut today by the way, or Cavani. We need a striker urgently. It doesn’t have to be a long term or even medium term solution. We need one now, this season, or we can kiss goodbye to hopes of winning the PL or CL.

Barca inserted a clause in his termination agreement that he couldn't join certain clubs eg us and PSG
