He wasn't brought in to win the premier league or FA cup or league cup...we had already won 2 Premier leagues, an FA cup and a League cup before he got here......I think he was brought in to win the CL and hes been no where near it..not even reached a SF.
He hasn't been a failure domestically speaking ..hes been a roaring success in that respect, but for someone that has spent hundreds and hundreds of millions I think its not outrageous to say hes been an abject failure in the CL and has shown he will not deviate from his ways to play in that comp so I cannot see anythign different this time around.
No extension in sight and so we are quite justified in naming possible successors.

He is not perfect but to think the names bandied around as a replacement will be somehow better in my opinion is madness and spin of the highest order.
Somehow his achievements have been downplayed and the only thing to beat him with is chumps league as though that makes him a failure.

FC Barcelona in political turmoil ,shit squad , no funds and a crumbling stadium, not a fucking chance Pep will go back there !
Never say never Barca and a rebuild could be Peps return ticket. He has never done the obvious playing in Mexico ! Leaving Barca.....

Chumps league is more hit and miss and its not all down to the manager. Against Lyon we did not play well but laporte was tripped, Ederson fucked up and sterling missed a sitter. Its not all down to the manager.
Of course we should plan ahead for the next manager. But to think managers who have won fuck all will somehow be and upgrade is at best very optimistic.
The press and the old school minions to belittle him with shit like he can only win the chumps league with Messi blah blah blah
Personally I think our defence at last may be sorted and bodes well, maybe even for our supposed holy grail of European glory. I'd rather we regained the prem.
Whilst I agree with you 100% and you should post more often. CFTG is eluding to the point Pep was bought in to deliver the chumps league, which is a fact and he ( CFTG) only deals/argues in facts.
Despite his own dislike (and ours) of UEFA and chumps league, he will not be happy until Pep delivers it in accordance with Mansour and Kahldoons mandate/desire.
Me, like you and no doubt plenty of others would rather fuck UEFA)/chumps league off and concentrate on domestic honours, problem is the players/management/owner's want more.
Me, (until very recently) have been thrilled by the wonderful football we've been privileged to watch and long may it continue, even if that means having to endure all the bullshit that UEFA/chumps league throws at us.

Narrative? The only narrative here is this alleged fact that Guardiola was brought to win the Champions League.
