Carabao Chat

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Carabao Chat

Postby CuteMancs » Mon Dec 21, 2020 4:05 pm

This club is making me schizophrenic, some days I think I understand what they are trying to achieve and some (most) days I have no idea what the hell Pep and the management are up to. The one thing I feel sure about is that they will take this seriously. Does winning this pot mean we have had a successful season? That’s the age-old question. Lots of talk on the gooners forum about relegation, and I cannot see that happening. One thing is certain and that is they want a new manager. Sorry, I could not find the match officials for this game

COME ON CITY!!!

The perfect game to bounce back from.

City will more than likely win.

Lets win a trophy, Wigan style here!

No one does cups like Arteta.

Lord God can we forfeit?

**** off, I saw the league fixtures and thought I was getting a break from this ****

We’re winning this one.

He'll play a strong team to try and get a result, then we'll be knackered against Chelsea and get battered.

I am at the hope we lose so he gets sacked stage btw.

Park the bus with 3 at the back like in the good old days a few months ago.

Play the under 21s or whatever this match is irrelevant. Sick of cup games. If we fluke a result Arteta supporters say.....oooohhhhh look we beat man city. Arteta at the wheel…Sick of it every single weekend when it matters we get beat yet a win against ****ing Dundalk makes people believe.

Can see us beating City’s reserves and the Athletic rolling out a week of hype for our flukey 11 men behind the ball win.

Mesut Özil is eligible to play in this btw.

We may win, but then back to the basics next Saturday to further extend the relegation reality.

City could play their reserves, I just can't see us winning or even scoring tbh. No way does Pep let his ex minion get one over on him at a time when he's floundering himself.

How is this **** competition still a thing? I swear I wouldn't even celebrate if we won it. Not that we will because Pep takes this competition seriously.

You know what's going to be really, really, really ****ing annoying? …We'll play on the break, City will fail to score, and we'll win either on penalties or via a fluke goal. Arteta will claim it as vindication for his MeThOd and Edu will back him up.

Last time a team won this competition and got relegated was when Birmingham beat us in the final.

If the kids play we might actually win. At least they have some pride.

Honestly don't give a ****.
We are going to see two teams pass it sideways and backward. Nice.

By the look of things we'll have to win one of this or the FA cup to get entry into Europa again.

What I don't understand: is this not more or less the same arsenal team that beat manchester city and liverpool and chelsea? …If anything it should be better with the addition of Gabriel and Partey.

Watch Pep gift this one to Mik.

Pep said he’ll rest De Bruyne so can see us grinding one out against their B team…Cue twenty articles about Mikel’s tactical masterclass.

Funniest part of this match is, the more of our youngsters we play, the better chance we have of winning...but Arteta will probably panic after losing so much and play the seniors, which will only hinder us.

Win here would actually irritate me. If these spinless cvnts decide show up for this meaningless micky mouse cup game after all the record breaking slacking in the PL, they truly deserve a slap in the face more than ever.

We'll win this.

Cheers CM

Sterling work as always. And I don’t mean fucking up a one on one chance!!!

We are going to see two teams pass it sideways and backward. Nice. Was my favourite and right on the money

Looking forward to this Arsenal game, another cup in the cabinet always looks good. Aubamayang is out for the game and it will be nice to see Sergio start and get a few for us.

Another game!

Cheers, mate, seems like the majority are a little worried with a couple glad of the break from the PL and a chance of a different outcome. To be honest, I’d rather forget the Carabou this season but know as consecutive owners it’s hard to give up but with the final being moved to April it could seriously impact other competitions.

Anyway, by time the game starts I will be wanting to stuff the dirty Arse twats.

It may only be the least best cup in terms of glory but when you progress in a competition and you get to within a couple of games of a Wembley Final, I’m sure it must whet the appetite of the players. If it doesn’t then they can fuck off out of the club as far as I’m concerned.

A pot is a pot and as we’ve seen in previous campaigns, having silverware on the sideboard as we enter the business end of the season, gives everyone a boost. I for one will never tire of seeing a City captain lift a trophy and long may it continue

If it were up to them we wouldn't exist, they wanted us gone. I hope we destroy them and then heap misery on them.

Be interesting to see if he plays ozil as he is available and eligible to play in this comp. If he does, he will be admitting he was wrong.
